Vintage Style Safari Coats
Based on british military styles from the turn of the century, the safari jacket is an iconic style from late victorian times, and one of the most commonly known jackets to adopt the patch pocket. A patch pocket is a pocket of the same fabric sewn onto the outside of the garment. They often had pleats that allowed for the pocket to expand and flaps at the top to secure the contents. Safari jackets were outfitted with numerous pockets for storing ones gun cartridges, field glasses, pipe, matches, notebook, etc. and made it ideal for the 19th century explorer.
The safari jacket is made of 100% cotton canvas for durability and can be paired with pith helmet and khaki trousers to complete the adventurous look.
