A Historical Emporium exclusive!
Embracing his nocturnal ritual with the finest brandy and cigars money could buy, his sophisticated unwind ensemble featured our Vintage Smoking Robe in luxurious red brocade.
While today the smoking jacket is an elegant alternative to a formal tuxedo, in the Victorian era this garment served a much more specific purpose in at-home entertainment. Scrupulously dressed 19th century gentlemen (who literally had a coat for every occasion) would don a loose jacket over their clothing as a protective barrier from the odors of their smoking indulgences.
Our more contemporary interpretation of the perennially hip smoking jacket is the longer brocade smoking robe. It features a rich red floral jacquard patterned body with a black quilted velvet shawl collar and cuffs. A long single velvet tie keeps this robe closed. Three black velvet trimmed front pockets, two at the waist and one at the breast lined in satin for an opulent touch, offer ample storage for smoking necessities. No interior pockets. Robe measures approximately 40" in length and the tie measures approximately 43" long in a Large.
Imported. Made from 100% polyester microfiber with a polyester lining. Professionally Dry Clean only.
