Victorian Mens Shirts
A white starched shirt has been a staple of mens dress wear for centuries. In the victorian era, however, men also enjoyed patterned and bright shirts to offset the starched white collars and cuffs. Formal dress shirts would feature a pleated front, pleated bib, or plain front and a fancy collar: a fold-down wingtip collar, a stiff high stand collar, or the rounded banker collar.
Work shirt styles were less rigid and included full-placket and pull-over styles, bib fronts and a wide selection of colors, stripes and patterns.
