I wanted an authentic western shirt for my new hobby of Cowboy Action Shooting. I ran across Historical Emporium on the web and they had so many different patterns and colors of western shirts that it was difficult to make a decision. I finally decided on the Coulter style in black and white pinstripe. This is a great shirt, authentically styled and tailored and the pinstripes are visually very pleasing. Quality is quite nice and the large cut of the shirt is very comfortable. I am very pleased with the shirt.

Perfect collared shirt
I just returned from Tombstones "Helldorado Days" where I wanted to get my photo taken with the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. I had wonderful black Frontier Classics trousers, red apache scarf, grey tweed vest and white banded collar shirt. I ended up hating the shirt. It made me feel like I was choking. I bought the Sinclair Edwardian shirts in all the colors available and LOVE them. With the proper ties I can leave the collar unbuttoned, breathe and still look good.

I most recently had the opportunity to attend a “Black Tie Chic” event.
I did not want to purchase an entire tuxedo- what do to?
I turned to the myriad of shirts at Historical Emporium to put together a “look”.
To include the Tuxedo-look of the Sinclair Edwardian Club Collar Shirt and Gold Vest.
Well let me tell you I looked sensational- some folks came up to me and said I looked dapper.
I was worried about size but the shirt xxl fit fine- great cotton feel.
I did have a bit of a problem with the vest - which I will comment later.

I've been looking for this style of shirt here in U.K. but have not had much success I.e. Seen plenty
with the white collar but sleeve cuffs have been same colour as the rest of the garment,nice feel
to the material and all round good fit for me,perhaps cuffs could be made to accommodate cufflinks

What can be said about the functional simplicity of a white button up shirt, especially for period-accurate costumes? The shirt is high quality, the fit is nice as long as you take the time to take your measurements and order the appropriate size, and what was perhaps the most surprising aspect of this shirt: it's extremely comfortable.
The shirt is 100% cotton and feels very, VERY, nice on the skin and is very breathable. Pairs well with sleeve garters and bowties as well.

I am always wary of ordering clothes by mail or from the internet, but I needed a Victorian/Edwardian club-collared short, so I took a chance when I stumbled across The Gentleman's Emporium. To say the least, I'm glad I did.The shirt (of very high quality) fits perfectly (which isn't all that common as I lift weights four day/week). So why the "two perfect fits" title? Given this initial experience with the company, I'd say The Gentleman's Emporium is going to be an equally perfect fit for me. (Expect more orders.)

I wanted to get a comfy yet slightly stylish shirt for a Steampunk convention and this one is perfect. I live in a hot climate and tend to get overheated easily. This shirt did a good job of keeping me comfortable. It's loose but not so billowy that it looks like a pirate shirt. The collar is just right for a casual look or a slightly dressier look when paired with a vest and tie - which is what I wanted. It's held-up really well in the washing machine. No loss of shape. I love this shirt. The material and cut make it good for dressy occasions, but it isn't overly formal and great for everyday wear, especially with a four-in-hand or bow tie. Like many of your products, it's a staple of my daily wardrobe. Now my eye is on either the white or blue one for summer.

The tag on this pull-over shirt calls it a Shiloh. sounds so historical! Heavier-than-usual cotton weave feels comfortable with a tee-shirt or tank top under it. This shirt can take a beating in any reenacting situation. Classic 19th century design fits right in with CAS situations. Add a western tie and vest for those times when a cowboy wants to spruce up a might. I wear a lamb skin leather waistcoat with it. Not so much historical 19th century western as common in the old western TV shows from the 50's & 60's. This shirt can also be seen in those old western shows and movies. It's a tough, yet good looking design that belongs in your cowboy wardrobe.

I bought this shirt in natural and tan stripe, and the look of both is superb. I actually preferred this striped one in appearance. However, the fabric was different from the natural. I found it too course, as i have sensitive skin. So, I sent in back, no big deal. But I think a washing and a wearer who prefers a tougher fabric will love this. The natural, on the other hand... that was a keeper.

I bought this intending to use it as part of my intrepid explorer steampunk costume, but it's so comfortable and such a great fit I've worn it to work several times. Moral: don't limit your thinking. I suspect many Emporium products can be worn on 'non-costume' occasions.

Perfect fit
I ordered this and several other items for my daughter's upcoming wedding. The entire package arrived several days earlier than expected, and I was skeptical of the purchase, but once receiving all the items I realized the material quality was high the fit was perfect and the price was great. I could not have bought a suit for the same price. I am amazed at the outstanding customer service from historical Emporium. I even had to change my pants size day after I ordered and it was corrected and I received the proper fit.

Extra long is great!
I like Frontier Classics shirts except that the sleeves are usually too short for me. I’m over 6’ 2” with longer than average arms and legs. The fact that Historical Emporium stocks extra long, or ‘Tall’, versions of the shirts is perfect. I haven’t found them anywhere else (which is why I bought the shirt from them rather than from a supplier in the UK). I wish the long versions of Frontier Classics shirts were more widely available because this one I’ve bought is very good.

I do period recreations and Steampunk cosplay. I needed a shirt for a new cosplay not to dissimilar to the office outfits worn on The Gilded Age on HBO Max. This shirt is very close to what I was looking for and the price was not bad. It matched the frock and waist coat I got for the cosplay very well.
Understand in period, many white shirts were off white and not stark white. I love the texture and color difference.
If you are looking for a more casual Late Victorian/Edwardian shirt, this will do the trick.

Online comments said the shirt fits on the large size so I went with the fit chart and bought a medium instead of the usual large and it fits perfect. Plenty of shoulder room and arm length is exact. Beautifully made. Shipping was really fast to Canada.

Very good quality, nice and breezy and handy for summer. And the collar style makes it versatile, so you're paying for two different shirts in one. It's quite baggy around the stomach but a waistcoat takes care of that. I ordered 2XL and it fits me perfectly, which is pretty good for something I bought online.
With the collars starched up, I think it probably looks best with a deluxe western-style bowtie or a cravat.

The shirts that I purchased appear to be pretty good quality. They were shipped in a timely fashion, were well packaged and arrived in good shape. I like the style very much and they are very comfortable. I purchased them to wear at team ropings. I needed a long sleeved, shirt with a collar and the buttons on these shirts are only down the top portion of the shirt. I am hopeful that this will eliminate my problem with rubbing buttons off on the saddle horn.

This shirt is a sharp one, and it looks good with anything I wear it with. However, as other reviewers have noted, the stripes are darker and bolder in person than they are depicted on the site. That isn't a problem that warrants sending it back with a stern letter (because it's a great shirt), but it would be nice to have photos depicting such products in natural light to see an accurate picture. No matter, though; I like it lots, and have my eye on the tan stripe one next...

Classic shirt with club collars
I wore this shirt to church on Easter Sunday with a vest and modern tie. Club collar shirts have such a great classic look. I have photos of ancestors wearing these kinds of shirts, so I was glad to join the club (pun intended). Note that the navy stripes are a very dark shade and almost look black in some lights. The stripes are also slightly wider than stripes on similar modern shirts, not that it mattered for my purposes.

I ordered this shirt as a first trial of the Historical Emporium's service. This first purchase took a while to arrive, but it was within the suggested length of time for delivery. It fits perfectly and I really like the colour. As a result of this first order, I have since ordered a much larger selection of items, and they arrived very quickly! I was somewhat taken aback, however to find that I had to pay duty on them. I understood that we have a free trade agreement with the U.S., but I did not realize that these items were generally made outside of that country and therefore were not subject to this agreement.
In future, it would be nice if the source of manufacture of items could be shown in the online catalog to avoid unpleasant surprises. However, I will still buy from the site as the service is very good, and so are the products.

This is a casual shirt with a simplistic, frontier style that I like a lot. The color was lighter than I expected - but this is good because I find I can wear it with all of the vests and dungarees of different colors that I have. The fit of this shirt is loose and comfy. The back stitching has a great, subtle, frontier look.
Perhaps this shirt can be made in the color black? I think the style of this shirt plus the color black would give it a very dramatic look.

Shirt seems to be well constructed and fabric is quite lightweight, great for summer. It is too big however. Ordered a Large for my neck size, which is a 16, and I can fit my hand into the collar. I sadly threw away the tags and packaging before I could really try it on with the vest I bought previously, so unreturnable. It's a good shirt, nice metal buttons, but if you buy one, size down!
