Looking forward to wearing them in my golf Tournament

I needed something warm to bike to banks and other businesses. Biking out fits don't cut it. Paired with over the knee wool socks and a nice vest and overcoat, these knickers fit the bill. The wool content isn't as great as I'd hoped for, but the synthetic lining makes peddling comfortable.

The quality, style, fit are all spot on perfect

This was a perfect addition to my new Victorian Santa suit. My niece (costume designer for a big Vegas show) made me a new vest and coat - but we needed the perfect late 19th century pants. The Gray Herringbone Tweed knickers are a perfect "second suit" along with the Olive Herringbone Tweed trousers I also purchased from the Emporium. Santa will get lots of "looks" this season!

I have several Norfolk jackets in pure wool (some bespoke and some off the peg). I have always wanted a Norfolk suit but they're pretty uncommon now except if you go the bespoke route. When I saw Historical Emporium's offering I snapped it up in my size hoping that the 38 waist trousers would be right and it was just about perfect. I'd like a lightly higher rise but that's all personal preference and the pleats probably push us into 1920s or 1930s territory but I love pleats and am glad to have them even if they're not part of the Edwardian aesthetic the Norfolk suit is part of. As part of my Norfolk suit this will join my other Nofolks quite proudly. The button fly, as clearly described in the listing, is a great touch (though it can be finicky, and this is from someone who has a number of corduroys and smart trousers with button flies, but not so finicky that they're a drawback).

The wool knickers are super comfortable for hiking in the White Mountains, thin enough not to overheat you but the wool keeps warm if the weather turns foul (which it inevitably does). Having your lower legs free gives you additional mobility and ease of stride while keeping your knees covered for scrambling up and over rocky spots.

As usual, historical Emporium sells high quality clothing. The trousers are great, and are made with quality fabric. I highly recommend them

Great knickers, but i thought they had a zipper fly because the description wasn't real clear. Button fly is ok but challenging to do up at times.

These are really good canvas, and are my second pair. The first were size 32 in another color. One thing to know is this color runs small. The 32” brown were like man leggings that don’t bend. I’m not overweight and I was muffining out the top. So sold that pair to a friend who is made of popsicle sticks and got myself 34”. Those are perfect!! So order a size up if you eat food.

Very well made trousers. Unfortunately, I was trying to integrate them into my wardrobe and, due to the inseam and my wearing the new slimmer profile styles, I couldn't abide the mass of material at the crotch level. I understand that the cut of these is authentic. Wish there were someone making a slimmer version with a more tapered leg.

I ordered these for work pants (farm, woodworking, blacksmithing). They are very comfortable. The height of the waist is not a traditional high waist, but is a really good medium-height for me. The fabric is a nice brushed hard-wearing twill, but is definitely even lighter weight than I was expecting. That's okay, they'll be good summer pants, but it was a surprise.

The Trousers didn't fit, when ordering I didn't realize the cut of the Trouser was to be worn high. I have a 42 waist at my belly button, but order a 38 waist because I wear my jeans at my hips. This was my mistake and not the Historical Emporium's. When ordering measure your belly button waist not your hips.

I received my order within a week and the pants were exactly as described. They are made of heavy fabric and are quality throughout. Sizing was spot on. I bought them for Cowboy Action Shooting and a period correct for 1880-1890 dress. A durable, well fitting addition to my cowboy outfit.

I bought this to wear in warmer weather. The fabric is thinner, but still rugged. I shortened the legs and had my tailor use the material to make a pocket on the left hip cheek to match the patch pocket on the right cheek. I've learned the value of having more pockets, and since I wear a long rifle coat with these pants, it doesn't matter if historically accurate or not; it just makes sense to have 4 pockets. The pants fit well and look good; not overly baggy but not rock-n-roll tight either. The fabric feels like its treated for repellency; they look good with the tuxedo shirt and vest. If you're going for the "Tombstone Marshall" look, these will work well.

I like the way these pant fit, but I ordered them in size 40 waist think that they would be loose fitting like my Wranglers... I think I may have to send them back to trade for a 42" waist size...

If you follow the instructions and measure your waist below the belly button, you can't go wrong.

I'm a costume designer and I wanted to buy this piece for a character. The product is made of a great material and very high quality y'all! They left me a lovely card thanking me for the purchase, but I should be thanking y'all because of how fast it got here and in such well secured packing. They gave me everything I needed. And they (the knickers) look really GOOD!!

Heavy. Good heavy fabric. Heavier than the canvas saddle pants. Picture, to me, looks green. Good smoke grey when in hand. Fit is accurate. Will need to be hemmed if you aren't a longshanks.

I've been quite happy with the product and service I've received from Historical Emporium over the years. The Patterson and Livingston trousers are no different. The fit is perfect using the measuring guide. Follow the instructions, though; these do not fit like modern pants. The quality is outstanding; if they're like previous trousers I've owned from Historical Emporium, I know they will last for many years of frequent wear. The brushed cotton is very unique; a soft peach-fuzz texture, but also durable like jeans. As for customer service, my orders have always shipped promptly. When I needed to exchange a product, it was taken care of quickly. When I've had questions, the customer support team replied to my emails promptly and professional. Overall, I highly recommend these trousers and Historical Emporium.

Just what I wanted

I first discovered Historical Emporium a few years ago when I wanted a special look for my daughter's wedding. This latest purchase is just for an old time look with no special occasion in mind. Bought them 2" bigger than my usual size, as per suggestion, and the fit is perfect. Tailor charged $20 to hem them, so glad I got them on sale!!! Extremely comfortable, cool looking pants!! I'm a repeat customer and selection, prices, and service are always the best!!

These period clothes will be part of my everyday public wear. I don't care for contemporary fashion at all. Everyone looks the same. As far as the trousers, they're still in alteration for a shorter inseam adjustment so I have yet to wear them.

Fit well and look great. I wore them with tall boots and it worked excellently. Well made. The button fly takes some getting used to. It a bit slower than a zipper.
