I wore a light coloured one with a vest, cravat, and Métis sash (cultural attire) years ago at my wedding and wanted colored versions I could wear for other nice occasions. The sleeves are a bit puffier than I remembered but if paired with the correct vest or coat they will be fine. Overall a fine purchase and could build a decent wardrobe around this kind of shirt.

Everything good about the shirt. The good thing about the band collar shirts is that they work so easily with bandanas. The bandanas lay just right when there is no collar in the way. All good!

Some week ago, I received my latest order, the Chocolate-colored Fundamental Work Shirt. What can I say, no loss in quality regarding this item, on the contrary in fact. The fabric feels terrific when I wear the shirt. It has a warm brown color, which actually isn't done justice in the pics online. I'll definitely order some more colors of this shirt.

The embroidery around the neck and chest is exquisite. I ordered it for a Civil War reenactor uniform shirt. Our unit is finally going to "Exact" uniform standards and this shirt will more than amply do the job!

The navy shirt has quite a distinct cut, slightly more full than the red workman's (forgot name) I purchased earlier. I am equally pleased with this shirt as the last, and will be looking for a deep green one next. By the way, they wash beautifully, but bleed til second wash, so just wash with darks..and do NOT dry. Hanging them to dry has left the style and size intact. Off to shop...

A very fine shirt.

Material feels substantial but comfy; sleeves give lots of room to move; comfy neck and cuffs; nice detailing. The only point I would EMPHASIZE is that it MUST be washed in cold water. The pleat detailing beside the button band reduces the stretch across the chest. It is not forgiving - esp. if you shrink the shirt by washing it in warm water (like I did). I tried to order a larger one in navy, but it was not available.

Wish it was made in America, I would pay more for a shirt made in America!!!!

So I work at a chocolate factory and we were testing a new batch of cherry flavored chocolate. I personally hate the taste but it tested good in focus groups. Anyways, I split hot fudge and it blended right into my shirt. I decided to jump in and the supervisor hasn't found me for 3 days. The camouflage is just too good.

Shipping was very fast. Fit, finish, and sizing of this product is excellent. Historically very appropriate for last quarter of the 19th Century. A little fancy for a work shirt but perhaps a "go to meeting" shirt. I like it. I have purchased clothing from Historical Emporium, for years, to do historic shooting with Single Action Shooting Society and National Congress of Old West Ssootists. I have yet to be diappointed. I have only praise for everything I have purchased and for Historical Emporium. You will not go wrong with this company.

I recieved this shirt faster than expected. I have checked it over very well and it is of fine quality. I tried it on and the fit is excellent. I have yet to wear it, but if the multitude of olther clothing from Historical Emporium is any indication, I am sure it will wear well and I will be very pleased.

I work in the blacksmith shop at Historic Camden Park in Camden, SC and so I own several Early American type work shirts. The shirts I have from Historical Emporium are my "go to" shirts. They are well made, rugged and great to work in. The Lamar Work shirt in Burgundy is my fifth and most recent purchase and I get compliments on it each time I wear it. For the money, I don't think you can beat these shirts.

I have bought four shirts off this site. Everyone has been of high quality. This shirt once again is superb, a little heavier than a cotton shirt but soft. The design on the front is subtle and is a great splash of design. Sturdy built I wear this as an everyday. This place does not sell cheap stuff. I wear all my shirts and none have developed problems.

This shirt is built from what feels to be some sturdy material. I expect that I will be able to get moderate use from this shirt over several years. If I am wrong about this shirt and it does not hold up to moderate use, I will be back to update this review.

Really nice shirt fits well & feels good cotton is not scratcy next to your skin . My 12 year old grand daughter gave it a 2 thumbs up rating & in my kind it can not be rated higher than that . They may call it a work shirt, but it looks good enough for leisure wear as well. The fabric seems to be sturdy and durable enough to qualify as a work shirt. It will receive a bit of rough wear over the next few months, and I anticipate it will retain its good looks.

My husband is extremely pleased with this shirt. It was originally bought for a costume but he's now planning to order at least one more for regular wear. The fabric is a very nice weight and quality and I am impressed with the construction and quality of the seams. The colour is a perfect deep burgundy.

OK, so I am new to Cowboy Action Shooting, and dressing the part. The thing is, I,m not really a great shot, SLOW, but DAM, do I look good in this shirt, and it,s always MIND OVER MATTER, I don't mind being slow, and it just dosent matter. This is a very nice quality shirt, I have found that for the money the dress shirts are the way to go. This is my 4th dress shirt, 2 from Frontier Classics and 2 from Scully, there nice shirts. Ive been harsh in the past on a (work shirt) I returned, I expected a better quality.

I wanted an authentic western shirt for my new hobby of Cowboy Action Shooting. I ran across Historical Emporium on the web and they had so many different patterns and colors of western shirts that it was difficult to make a decision. I finally decided on the Coulter style in black and white pinstripe. This is a great shirt, authentically styled and tailored and the pinstripes are visually very pleasing. Quality is quite nice and the large cut of the shirt is very comfortable. I am very pleased with the shirt.

Once again, I am simply delighted by the superior quality of this item, its authentic styling and true to size fit. It's also quite stylish and damned comfortable, to boot. I've only one, eensy problem with the shirts available here: I love french cuffs, and they simply aren't available on many of the shirts. You might want to seriously consider asking your manufacturer to offer them. Otherwise? Fine garment!

If you love the look of the Wild, Wild West, you will absolutely love the Coulter Shirt. This shirt has the perfect collar for a hand-tied bow or string tie. It is comfortable to wear and can go well with any solid-colored vest. The fit is fantastic! Best of all, it does not need dry cleaning. Machine wash in cold water and hang to dry for best results.

I ordered a Medium Coulter Shirt - and the sizing appears to run large. So, I returned it and ordered a Small, which fits perfectly (kind'a amazing because I don't wear a small *anything*!). The quality is impeccable and the shirt looks GREAT!

I wear these shirts with the Chadwick waistcoat over the top. The shirts fit very well, and look much nicer with a waistcoat than a more modern style shirt with a pointed collar. The material and colours are lovely.

The French cuffs are wonderful and the cuff link openings are made tight to retain cuff links well.

Very well made. Sturdy material. Collar is as advertised, tall. Fit comes just underneath the jawline. Cuffs are magnificent as they are a true fold over French cuff in every sense. Cufflink holes line up on the mark. These are not conversion cuffs as there are no buttons, so keep that in mind when ordering. Sleeves are a bit long for me. Bought a size large. I'm a 16-161/2 neck with a 34/35 sleeve. Easy remedy is to buy a pair of sleeve garters. Problem solved. As with all the shirts I've purchased here, very satisfied. Will wrinkle when laundered so be ready for some starch and ironing.

The shirt fit as expected per the measurements and sizing chart. The quality of the fabric and sewing are excellent. Sleeves were a bit longer than expected, but that gave a good, baggy/slouchy sleeve look, which I liked. The collar and shoulders were proper tightness to complete the high-collar look for my outfit.

Very good quality textile. Crafted as well as any modern-made shirt. It should last a long time. Because of the full-cut, I will need to have the sleeves shortened, but that was expected.

I was impressed by the quality of material and workmanship as soon as I opened the package, and it fit great, too. Get compliments every time I wear it to work, or even just around town. Plan to purchase several more in different colors.

Recieved my order quickly and in fine shape. I wore it first to a "workin' folk" dinner. The shirt looked dashing. Then used it on the shooting range (Cowboy Action Shooting) and it functioned even better than it looked. Plenty of arm room and flexibility. Material is nice, not flimsy, the color is fast after washing, the fit is nice and the size to fit relationship is accurate. A excellent workin' mans shirt. I have a second in maroon. I might yet get another.

The Fundamental Work Shirt is a good fit. I'm 220 pounds, 5'9" tall, and the 2X fits well, except the sleeves are a little long, but not so long I need to send them back. The Essential Work Shirt Seems slightly fuller, and the fabric seems somewhat heavier, but the overall fit is close. Both types are relatively easy to get on and off, and seem nicely made. The shirts have a definite "night shirt" look to them, but they are comfortable and roomy. I tried them on with bluejeans, and khakis, and they look good--a combination modern/retro look. I expect some looks and comments when I go out in the world wearing these shirts. I fully expect to have to answer the question, "Where did you buy that shirt?" I will wear them alone or with my Woolrich wool vests, which looks great. If you want some casual shirts that are different, and will set you apart from the rest of the herd, give these shirts a try. You'll be the only cat in town with genuine manly puffy sleeves. If you can pull that off, you'll be a man, my son. (Sorry, couldn't help it. A little fun with Rudyard Kipling's poem, "If--.")

I just returned from Tombstones "Helldorado Days" where I wanted to get my photo taken with the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. I had wonderful black Frontier Classics trousers, red apache scarf, grey tweed vest and white banded collar shirt. I ended up hating the shirt. It made me feel like I was choking. I bought the Sinclair Edwardian shirts in all the colors available and LOVE them. With the proper ties I can leave the collar unbuttoned, breathe and still look good.
