Bought to ride in - look and feel awesome!

I participate in Spanish Classical dressage tournaments and working equitation clinics. This is lovely material and feminine and you do not need to wear leggings with it like you do with some of the Spanish designs. I cannot wait to ride in it. It can also have an old west look to it. It's perfect!

No occasion just like wearing them

I have several costumes for riding sidesaddle and needed something for a western look with various vests and jackets. These fit well, do not seem to bind and are slim looking around the waist and hips. I may hand wash as I don't want to change the fit one iota!! Lovely product, thank you!

This is my second pair of Classic Riding Pants and I love them. They fit well (use the sizing chart), drape beautifully, and I like the longer length as just about any style of shoe or boot looks great. The fabric is soft but sturdy. Does require ironing or quick touch up. I've worn these riding pants with several Historical Emporium blouses, off the rack blouses, and casual pull over shirts. AND, there are two deep pockets! Bonus!

This is a beautifully crafted cotton skirt. Soft nice weight. Can easily be worn for dress or play depending on what you wear with it.

This is an awesome skirt made with sturdy fabric and buttons. The inseam is slightly short for me at 5' 10" but it's not enough to deter me from wearing it.

This convertible skirt is for a production of Little Women at a high school theater. The concept is perfect for the character. An XS size would be helpful but it was an easy alteration.

Great for my needs, but ohh the elastic. Yes, I ordered a large. But the elastic must be for petite people. I had to rip it out and replace it with a more comfortable piece. Even if I dropped ten pounds the waist would have been too tight.

As a docent at the Marcus Daly Mansion (Riverside) in Montana, I need in-period costumes to give tours. I am also a performer with our Acapella Society, singing at Christmas events. This comfortable and well-made skirt fits both venues. It has exceptional detail with the back ruffles, the slight A-line and can be used dressed or casual. I needed a small, but purchased medium, which will work for outdoor winter performances, covering the much-needed thermal underwear! I'm more of a petite, so the skirt is a bit long, but can be easily remedied, or even stylized further to create a slight train. Next time Mrs Daly appears, I'm sure she'll give a nod of approval!

Very impressive quality. It's a rather heavy weight fabric, I like the body it provides. I'm wearing it with the hoop skirt. It goes well with a black blouse for a widow look and I have a burgundy ruffle blouse that looks beautiful with it as well.

This skirt is well-made and perfect for the stage...very comfortable, too. I chose to wear a petticoat under it, but it also looks good without one.

This is the 2nd skirt I have purchased here. I bought this skirt 1 size smaller than my previous skirt because I know the sizes run large. It fits perfectly, partly due to the elastic waist. It is also the right length right out of the box (I had to have my other skirt hemmed). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a basic Victorian skirt. Keep a lint roller handy, because the twill attracts almost everything!

This is a very beautiful, well made skirt. It can be thrown in the washer and dryer and the folds and layers in the back can be touched up with an iron - don't have to dry clean! I'm paring this with a pair of victorian boots and the Abbington blouse. One could probably wear this skirt not as a costume, with a long sleeved V neck T-Shirt and a wide black belt.

Looks so original I love the material

This is a gorgeous garment. It is twill, so the hems will tend to fold over in the dryer and it will need a touch-up with an iron when it comes out. but you CAN put it in the washer and dryer, which is huge when you're talking about practical clothing. The length, weight, and drape of this are just beautiful. I have a thick waist, measuring around 36", and I ordered the XL. It fits well enough that I'm not going to exchange it but if I had it over I would order the Large -- there's ample stretch in the elastic and it would be a bit more snug/secure in the smaller size. Would love to see this offered in other colors!

This skirt appears to be of good quality and very durable. It will work well with the Georgiana blouse wearing it in our 1862 era museum building, whether as a school teacher, store keeper, or housewife.

This is a super skirt. I wear a size 18 or better and it fits to perfection. AND doesn't look too big. the ruffle is only in the back and makes a nice silhouette. the front panel hangs smooth, just as it should. I would buy this in other colors too, if only it were made in brown, rust, tan or navy.

I bought this outfit to wear when I give tours at my local historical cemetery. It is beautifully made but I wish that they would make them in petite sizes. I have to alter the skirt because it is too long. This is the second outfit that I have purchased and both are way too long! How about offering these for women that are under 5'4?

My wife picked this out for a specific event. She loves it. The skirt has multiple buttons, so it adjusts to the wearer. It looks good on her, and we are excited to attend the next event in a good-looking kit.

I don't know how I missed the existence of this suit for so long. I will chock it up to not really wearing skirts and therefore paying more attention to the men's section. However, when I went looking for something to pair with my Gibson girl blouse, I did a serious double take, given that I'd bought a pattern for basically this exact outfit years ago, back when I had dilusions of learning to sew well. I'd even planned on using these exact colours! Needless to say, I had to have it. Enter my wacky build. According to my chest measurement, I'm a S. According to my waist measurement, I'm a L. L was out of stock, so Mum and I looked at each other and, after some debate, decided that since I frequently wear M jeans, it would be worth it to order the M. Fingers crossed, I placed the order and... ...PERFECT FIT! I about did a little dance when I tried it on, but there wasn't room in Mum's bathroom! And it's well made and the weight is lovely and the skirt twirls! This will undoubtedly become my 'most worn outfit with an actual skirt' in short order. I want to go to the park in it and just walk around looking amazing.

This is a beautiful suit, well made. Sizing is always an issue with me so I have to be very careful in selecting a size. The chart was a big help. The skirt is long but can be adjusted to my height.

I recently ordered costumes to try on for a part I have in an Historical Drama later this year. I chose the Ladies Edwardian Suit together with a blouse in natural and the cameo on the black velvet ribbon. The costumes are very well made, they are a good price for the quality you get, and if you order by measuring they fit perfectly. All skirts are adjustable at the waist and are designed so they can be hemmed to your height. I was able to easily send back the costumes I did not choose easily and recommend this costume source.

This beautiful navy suit is extremely well made. Fabric is good weight and not only looks good, but will hold up. the buttons in the back and the way, the back is made, made it easy to move the buttons to take in the waist a little. Perfect. I'm very pleased with the look, and the quality.

This was purchased initially for a Titanic-themed evening, with future 1910s outings in the future. Anyone who saw it was incredibly impressed and asked where I bought the outfit! It looked very impressive and beautifully detailed. And the sizing was very very generous. The fabric has a nice weight and is well put together. My only gripe would be that it would be nice to mix and match sizes, as while the skirt was a touch large, the jacket was absolutely swimming on me and it will be a shame to have to alter it. All in all, if you're careful about the sizes, then I'd happily recommend it. And the processing and delivery was exceptionally fast.

Some women friends and I are attending a Victorian Holiday Tea in December and we're all trying to dress in period costume. This skirt (and accompanying blouse) is just perfect. When I tried it on, my husband said "Wow! Now I want to go to the Tea too." I can use this outfit two or three times a year. All I have to do is shorten the skirt a couple inches, otherwise, I'll be dusting the floor as I walk.

This skirt is the perfect length for me and the adjustability of the buttons in the back makes the fit perfect. It's well made with a quality, somewhat heavy fabric, but easy to care for.

This is a lovely piece! It was such a joy to try on for the first time. However, the length and fit are great! This skirt pairs nicely with my new Victorian Boots as well, they give me the bit of extra height needed to keep the hem off of the ground. I recently purchased the Navy Cotton Twill Walking Skirt & I LOVE it. The fit is just right for me even without wearing a corset. I am slowly transitioning into 19th C clothing on a full time basis & being a woman who wears a 2x makes it difficult. This skirt is perfect! The back allows adjustments so that it fits quiet nicely. I used this skirt in my high school classroom for a simulation that we were doing and the students thought that the skirt with the Gibson blouse was delightful and helped to "set the stage" in the classroom for an era that has gone by. I have since decided to purchase the skirt in black so that i will have more options for next year!

1890 House Museum

The skirt was a mile too long (I'm 5'2 1/2") and had to be shortened, but I'm looking forward to wearing it for my son's "Victorian" wedding reception next month. It is absolutely gorgeous! The Edwardian dress suit looks very nice and fitted well. The dress is a bit long I'm 5'8 and I wore several layers underneath and still had an inch dragging on ground,but as a lady I just lifted the skirt and was on my way. I am a docent in an historical home every Christmas season. Usually decked out in hoops, petticoats and a fabulous dress from the 1860s, I chose to do something easier this year so I could dress myself, be more comfortable, and not knock the ornaments off the tree. Going Edwardian, some 30 years later, was the answer. When this suit arrived, I was delighted to see the quality of the material and sewing. This is not a costume; this is a handcrafted piece. All it needed was hemming. With a black belt, hat, and the proper blouse and jewelry, this is a stunning outfit.

I was a volunteer at a historic reenactment event and needed an outfit I could put together without a lot of time and effort, so I bought this suit. As others have noted, it has an adjustable waist, which in my opinion is one of its nicest features. The jacket has a generous cut, which was great for me, since I have wide shoulders. I didn't have a black belt so I sewed on a black frog closure at the bottom of the jacket which really complimented it. Even though it's cotton it doesn't wrinkle too much, and it's pretty comfortable. Added a button up white long sleeve blouse with a brooch at the collar and presto-- edwardian outfit.

I bought the brown suede looking riding pants for the winter for my girls and I and we loved those. Now I bought these for the spring/summer and the opinion is the same. They are very light weight and comfortable. Perfect for modestly and stylishly riding their horses during the warm months.

These are a lovely breezy pair of pants. I am yet to wash them so they are yet to shrink, but the quality is really good and they go really well with my steampunk outfit.

A walking skirt is the key piece for my reenactment and this one is great! Nice heavy twill makes it hang and move very nicely. I have a pattern for a walking skirt, but it made so much more sense to buy this one. I do have to shorten it, but no big deal. It's already pinned up so all I have to do is sit down and stitch up the hem. I have two pairs of boots that have different height heels so I want to be sure the skirt length works for both. Or better yet, I should order a second skirt from you so I can have a longer skirt for the dressy boots and a slightly shorter one for the walking boots. I think I like that solution!

Nice and full. I'm tall so the length (5'8") was fine. Multiple buttons in the back so I was able to adjust to fit.

When I opened the package containing the black cotton twill walking skirt, my first thought was I was mistakenly sent the navy-blue skirt instead of the black skirt I ordered. The tag on the skirt said black so then I just figured it was the material that made it look a lighter black. When I put it next to my other black items, shirt and belt, it still looks dark navy blue. If I put a pair of navy-blue pants up to the skirt, they are the same color. I love the skirt; it fits well and is very well made and flowingly full. I just wear it with my white or non-black blouse and belt and it looks great.

This is definitely an all-around wear anywhere skirt. The twill cotton material is fantastic, you can wear it in any season and can be worn with any type of top. I have a white vintage lace Georgian blouse to wear with it, also a soft blush color pullover sweater, the possibilities are endless! Can be worn with my vintage black bow tie shoes or boots! Can dress it up or down, with my vintage cameo jewelry or just a bracelet or two. Arrived very quickly and unlike some sellers, in great shape, not bunched up or wrinkled, can practically be worn right out of the packaging! I really appreciate the care taken in sending the clothing, superior care for superior clothing!! Everyone comments on where I got this skirt, among other dresses I purchased here, you won't find these in the mall!! I definitely plan on getting more!

This skirt lives up to its photo. Fabric quality excellent, fit at waist and hips as quoted. But the length....so long. I'm going to break out the sewing machine. Find someone to help me pin it up, and then put in a new hemline. Please consider petite lengths. This skirt is quality, quality, Quality and worth the price.

I would have preferred 100% cotton, but the poly-blend does wash and dry very well (and without wrinkles when line-dried damp). I have a 35" waist and the XL was too large, but too-large is easier to adjust and adding a petticoat and/or moving the buttons should help. I'm a leggy 5'7" and the skirt hits well (although I have yet to try it on with low-heeled boots).

This is a great skirt! Lots of fabric makes it easy to walk in. I ordered 2 XL because I am big around and it fits great. I will have to shorten the skirt because I am not a tall person. I am pleased.

Very hearty skirt I thought it would be tea length but is was to the floor. Also thought it was bias cut but it was pleated. Returned and graciously refunded.....i had planned to hunt in it but too much skirt for easy movement

I really was impressed with this skirt quality. It is very long so I had to have it shortened but I always do. Other wise the fit was perfet! Very flattering with the somerset blouse's. Would work for a pioneer, victorian or old west look.

I bought this to wear to my daughter's Steampunk wedding but will be wearing it well beyond that because I love it. I will be wearing the tulle bustle skirt under it and a corset over it. It looks fantastic and I can't wait to wear it to the wedding. My husband will be wearing the brown cotton twill vest and trousers which match. I bought size XL as my waist size is 34". Because of the design, it is possible to add another button to make it a little larger or smaller. Very very happy!!

The skirt was exactly as in the picture. The material is durable and heavy. For the most part the stitching is very secure. (three stitches in the waist band unraveled but very easily fixed by even a complete sewing novice like me.). I am happy over all.

This is a very nice skirt - well made, looks good and is a beautiful, rich brown color. I also own this style in the tan/khaki color. I like the option of the extra buttons in the back which allow for adjustment depending on whether you're wearing a blouse tucked in or an over blouse.

I purchased this pinstripe walking skirt and the matching shirt for an upcoming event in my hometown. The event requires us to have on traditional looking 1850's clothing. This outfit is fashioned perfectly for the time period, very well made and fit true to size. I am so impressed and felt the price was great for the quality I received.

The fabric and construction is good quality, but of the 4 skirts I ordered, 3 had to have the center back panel completely removed to fit properly at the waist. These definitely run a bit big.

Although I think the products are a bit pricey, I certainly can not complain about the construction. I purchased both the blouse and skirt and both are very well made. I am new to this time period and a little hesitant about the look of the outfit but I think it will work for 1895. I thought the adjustability of the skirt was very clever and doesn't detract from an authentic look, at least as far as I can tell. I figure I'm saving myself a lot of work and aggravation by not sewing this one from scratch. However, I will be jazzing it up with some borders and an additional collar. I will also add horsehair around the hem. This is all for an event later this month where I give house tours and like to dress to the year the house was built. I think I'm pretty happy with this purchase and will be buying a white blouse sometime in the future.

I love this skirt. It is nicely made and looks great in the black and white pinstripes. I wore it for the first time today (with the matching blouse and a black jacket) for a suffragette outfit that I wore to one of the Women's Marches. These are made like real clothing, not costumes, very nice. The skirt feels very accurate to the period - smooth and staight in front with a wonderful great sweep behind. I wore three petticoats under it for the full effect. It felt great! I did get the hem quite muddy, so we'll see how she does in the laundry!
