I wore a light coloured one with a vest, cravat, and Métis sash (cultural attire) years ago at my wedding and wanted colored versions I could wear for other nice occasions. The sleeves are a bit puffier than I remembered but if paired with the correct vest or coat they will be fine. Overall a fine purchase and could build a decent wardrobe around this kind of shirt.

Everything good about the shirt. The good thing about the band collar shirts is that they work so easily with bandanas. The bandanas lay just right when there is no collar in the way. All good!

Some week ago, I received my latest order, the Chocolate-colored Fundamental Work Shirt. What can I say, no loss in quality regarding this item, on the contrary in fact. The fabric feels terrific when I wear the shirt. It has a warm brown color, which actually isn't done justice in the pics online. I'll definitely order some more colors of this shirt.

Educational Re-enactments

The shirt looks just like you see in the movies It has a very relax feel to it. Well made. Truly a work of quality. It certainly is excellent for reenactment.

I dress leisurely in these duds for all sorts of fun and frolic. The shirts in particular have all fit perfectly. They're true to size using the proper neck dimensions. Being so period/era correct, I'm very impressed. Sometimes even a blind dog finds a bone and finding these folks has really been a great experience.

Living history day at a fort demonstrating log hewing. I was able to move comfortably. Although not strictly accurate for the early period, it was great fabric and design, well executed construction.

Loved shirt

Not all Poofy Shirts are made equal. Bought this Pirate Shirt in a 2X for my boyfriend. He's 6'5" and, well, just bigger, and this shirt fit him like a yoho-ing piratey dream. The cotton fabric is a very nice quality, heavy with a little bit of knit feel to it, and the lace up closure at the chest, is just perfect to show off manly manly chest hair. The French cuffs are wonderful and the cuff link openings are made tight to retain cuff links well.

Very well made. Sturdy material. Collar is as advertised, tall. Fit comes just underneath the jawline. Cuffs are magnificent as they are a true fold over French cuff in every sense. Cufflink holes line up on the mark. These are not conversion cuffs as there are no buttons, so keep that in mind when ordering. Sleeves are a bit long for me. Bought a size large. I'm a 16-161/2 neck with a 34/35 sleeve. Easy remedy is to buy a pair of sleeve garters. Problem solved. As with all the shirts I've purchased here, very satisfied. Will wrinkle when laundered so be ready for some starch and ironing.

The shirt fit as expected per the measurements and sizing chart. The quality of the fabric and sewing are excellent. Sleeves were a bit longer than expected, but that gave a good, baggy/slouchy sleeve look, which I liked. The collar and shoulders were proper tightness to complete the high-collar look for my outfit.

Very good quality textile. Crafted as well as any modern-made shirt. It should last a long time. Because of the full-cut, I will need to have the sleeves shortened, but that was expected.

I love the feel and fit of this shirt. I've never had a shirt like this before and so was very pleasantly surprised to find I could remove the "flounce" and have a simpler, less formal, but still elegant look. Like getting two shirts for the price of one. (My daughter who is an aficionado of Victorian and Regency fashion loved it.) I was a little concerned because the shipping had left the collar badly wrinkled, but my daughter told me to just hang it in the bathroom while I took a steamy shower and voila - good as new! All in all I am delighted with this shirt.

I just returned from Tombstones "Helldorado Days" where I wanted to get my photo taken with the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday. I had wonderful black Frontier Classics trousers, red apache scarf, grey tweed vest and white banded collar shirt. I ended up hating the shirt. It made me feel like I was choking. I bought the Sinclair Edwardian shirts in all the colors available and LOVE them. With the proper ties I can leave the collar unbuttoned, breathe and still look good.

I'm certain I've secretly desired this exact shirt for my entire 45 years! I can add how the draw strings seemed too long at first and were somewhat annoying. But after the first wash they magically shrank to the perfect length as I used cold water with a medium heat drying-cycle.

I have made 3 other purchases from the Emporium. All sales were delivered with exceptional speed and the quality of the garments are exceptional as well.

This isn’t a costume shirt, it’s a dress shirt designed to the style of a former era, so I expected a lot and it is nearly perfect. Purchased for a Regency/Bridgerton costume to wear with vest and stock. My husband has sensory issues (autism, ADHD) so nothing but a cotton or linen shirt works. This was the only 100% cotton one I found. Seams and buttonholes are dress shirt quality, as expected. No loose threads. Collar has a loop on the back to secure a tie. Collar is double thickness and opaque, stands up on its own but will need ironing and starching. Body of the shirt is slightly translucent - without a vest, an undershirt will be necessary, but it will be cool in summer. Cut is era-appropriately boxy to loose. Lots of ease across the back with pleating. My husband is a chest size 44, but shoulders are 46 so we ordered XL. Turns out he could have sized down to L, as the shoulders are 1/2” past his natural shoulder, but as Regent shoulders were drop shoulders anyway, we’re keeping it. My husband is 6’, but with a 31” inseam so his torso fits like a 6’2” person. The length is perfect, and even at 6’4” you likely could get away with it, though it may be a little harder to keep tucked in is you’re doing more than walking and sitting. We’re very pleased with the shirt and I suspect he’ll look for other occasions and ways to wear it, because it’s so comfy. Photos are hung up wet to drip dry. Relatively wrinkle free, but needs ironing and collar...

Our grand daughter has chosen the theme of late Victorian for her wedding. Her colors are red and Gold. The first coat, shirt and pants that I ordered were too big and I needed to return them for the next smaller size. The exchange was accomplished within 5 days. A company rep. was very helpful when I called about the problem. The replacement garments are a good fit although I will need a small alteration to the vest because my middle is larger than my chest. Quality & workmanship of clothing is excellent and I expect that they will last for many years.... and Never go out of style. Thank you! I plan to order additional items in future.
