Our silver Double Albert Watch Chain is a classic and stylish accessory that was popular from the mid 19th century to the early 20th century. Named after Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria, who was known for his impeccable sense of fashion.
An "Albert chain" is a standard pocket watch chain featuring an extension known as a "drop." This small additional section of chain dangles from the T-bar, which attaches to a waistcoat or jacket lapel. The drop often ends with a "fob." Most fobs were purely decorative, but some gentlemen choose affiliation badges such as university or family crests for their fobs.
Our Albert chain features two 9.5 inch long chains with a swivel clasp, a 1.5 inch wide "T" bar to secure the chain to your vest through a buttonhole, and a small 1 inch chain to attach a watch fob or a decorative charm (sold separately).
