Absolutely love these boots, have been dreaming of owning a pair forever and finally got some in black! Wore them straight out of the box for 10 hours of theatre tech and had no blisters, aches or discomfort! They are truly well made; am now saving up for a pair in Walnut!
I loooove my boots! I did not know though that there is a very light pink lining that kind of shows from certain angles, but I absolutely love that detail! These came with extra-long laces (not pictured) and extra heels :) definitely worth the price. I like how thin the upper leather is. There is still structure but with flexibility. I love my shoes! Going to buy the red pair next <3
I fell in love with the boots as soon as I saw them and pre-ordered them as soon as I could. When they arrived, I admit that I was a little disappointed at some of the construction of the shoes - the interior eyelet grommets are off center on most of the eyelets, which makes lacing them more difficult than they should be, but as it was the inside, I decided to keep them.
The other thing I noticed is how much narrower the shoe base is compared to the other American Duchess shoes I have - the size five (so glad that my size is actually stocked, it is so hard to find my size in modern shoes!) is about a quarter inch narrower, so caution for those that are trying to decide between normal and wide width. The shown example is my everyday shoe of Kedwardian Oxfords.
I have worn the Edith boots for about 8 hours, and the narrower width was tight at first, after a while the leather does stretch to fit your foot more.

The flat measure of the outside sole isn't actually an indication of the inside width of the shoe - two styles can be made on the same last and have exactly identical interiors, while having completely different exterior sole widths.
On top of that, the Edith is made from a delightfully soft and supple leather, which will stretch beautifully to create a custom fit for your foot. Since it's softer than many of our other leathers, you do want it to feel comfortably snug to start, so that as it stretches it doesn't end up too big!
I've had to resort to wearing men's boots for most of my life because I am a very tall and strong gal. 11w ladies shoes are hard to find, and even harder to find in a true 11w. Usually brands just take an 8 and stretch it longer, not scaling up the proportions. This 11w is a REAL 11w! The heel is balanced, the instep is high enough, the ramp is perfect for the length, the insole is wide enough! I could live in these, if given the option. They're beautiful, comfortable, and so well made. I cannot wait to wear them at every chance.
I'm a long-time collector of AD shoes from way back, but have struggled recently with shoes not being wide enough. These are amazing. Not only are they wide enough for my feet (purchased a 10W), they also fit my ankles and legs while still retaining the "narrow" look for the period.
I adore these so much and hope they last forever! Im probably going to buy a few back ups. I just wish these were made out of genuine leather so they could outlive me. Also wasn't a fan of these being made in China but I guess for being the only seller of these kinds of boots online you get what you can get.
The fit was perfect. I have larger calves and wide feet and getting the wide was absolutely the move to keep the edwardian appearance of tight laces.
The Ediths are made out of real, high quality leather! 'Genuine' leather is just a marketing term and often includes some very poor quality leathers. We could absolutely call ours genuine leather and be technically correct, but frankly ours is better than most items that use that term.
Big Hocus Pocus fan here, these shoes make me feel like the most glamorous Witch that ever walked the planet. Extremely comfortable and durable, they are going to last for years to come.
My favorite pair of shoes!!! Super high quality, totally comfortable, and of course beautiful. Can not go anywhere in these without receiving a ton of compliments. So worth it nothing else compares.
These boots are so very comfortable, and beautiful. The curves, the soft leather, the period details... I don't usually wear heels above 2.5" anymore due to spinal issues, but I decided to give these a try, and was super pleased with how easy they are to walk in. I got them in 9W to give my slightly wide feet a little room, and the footbed fit is perfect. The calves are a little big even on my thicker legs, but it works. They're so fun to wear with both historical and modern clothes.
Just like I said. So many lace holes. You need to take your time lacing the boots.
I had to order a few pairs to find my perfect fit. I initially ordered the regular because my feet aren’t particularly wide. What I didn’t notice or take into consideration was the ankle and calf measurement. They are different between the regular and wide. I have thicker legs and really didn’t like the look of these boots with the lacing so far apart. The wide was perfect and gives that nice narrow fit. The shoe size itself is true to size.

I'm so glad and held off on purchasing other boots of this style and kept on top of restocks. These feel fantastic, look fantastic, and fit like a dream! I LOVE that they don't have zippers and look so true to actual, antique styles while being flattering for modern tastes. These are an absolute treat!
This is my second pair of Ediths. These boots truly are perfection. The fit is perfect, the leather is luscious. I usually wear a size 7 but I size up to 7 1/5 in boots for wiggle room. I have a wide foot but the regular width fit me fine by adjusting the laces. I have these in the black/ivory and walnut now but I already am saving up to buy them in solid black and gold. I'm hoping other color ways will be released in the future. Brown and beige, Hunter and tan or perhaps burgundy and pink?

We're glad you like them! RE the leather, we intentionally made these with a strong, soft, supple leather that makes the boot more comfy and also allows us to get those wicked curves! A thicker leather would make the boot stiff and uncomfortable, and the look would be very clunky rather than elegant.

These are the most beautiful shoes I own! The details of these boots are insane! The leather is so buttery soft! I wore them for a solid 5 hours and had no blisters whatsoever! The inside is as smooth as the outside! They are definitely a commitment. Being historically accurate there is no side zipper. So you have to lace them up every time. Plus they are very form fitting(which is why they are so comfortable). So definitely size up if you want to wear socks with them. I’m an 8.5/9. I ordered a 9. And they fit my foot perfectly with stockings(no room for socks). They have a wide option if you want more wiggle room. But these will stretch over time.
Waited two years to buy these and am very pleased with them. Comfortable, well fitting, so stoked. Thank you for such a quality product, I’ve been bragging about yall every chance I get, which is often because everyone asks me about my shoes.
Light weight, just the right height, go rich refuge brown leather! This boot would be more practical if there was a zipper on the side bc it takes forever to Lace them up! Also, mine came laced up, but I cannot reuse the lace because the threader on the end is none existent. The good thing is an extra, as in singular lace was in the box. I’m going to keep them bc I’ve wanted a pair for years, but I’m disappointed at the length of time it takes to put them on because I’m not a morning person & my work is busy!
We're thrilled you love your boots! We make them historically accurate, which is why they do not have a zipper. It does indeed take a lot longer to lace up in the mornings, of course. If you want a zipper, check with your local cobbler - most can install a zipper on any boot.
Comfortable and light. I’ve worn historically accurate footwear for several years due to my previous job as a park ranger who did living history. These are by far the most comfortable I’ve owned.
I love these boots so much -- they're so cute, look exactly as advertised, are high quality, and are about as comfortable as any heel can be. Absolutely worth the time it takes to lace them up.
They are great, everything I wanted. The extra laces are needed if your calves are bigger. Also they are a little narrow but I think the more I wear them the leather will stretch. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7, I got size 7 regular width and I think it’s a good fit.

Being obsessed with Edwardian - early 20's fashion, I've wanted a pair of two tone 1910's boots like these my whole life. They are absolute perfection. The fit, the heel shape, the way the leather feels on my feet. They are exactly what I've always wanted. Please take any negative reviews about the quality with a grain of salt. They are good quality and worth every penny. I'm saving up to order them in the Cordovan as well. I wear a size 7 but I ordered the 7 1/2 to accommodate thick socks. I have a wide foot but a very narrow calf/ankle so I ordered the regular width. They fit perfect.

The sizing chart is very accurate. I recommend choosing size based on the foot length. I'm usually a size 37 in Europe, and my feet are almost 24cm. American Duchess size 7.5 fits me perfectly.
