The ordering process was easy and efficient. A lot of items and styles to choose from! I wanted a festive vest for a holiday party. The emerald color was a little darker than anticipated and I was hoping for something a little brighter green. Also, I needed to have the vest altered some, I’m a slim and thin guy. Nonetheless, it is of good quality and I like the fabric and style very much. It will provide the style and “festive dress” requirements for the party. I’m grateful to have found a company and supplier of unique and stylish garments for men, above and beyond the run of the mill.

My husband was pleased with the look of the vest when it arrived, but it did not fit his pear-shaped body. However, we were pleased with the speed of the original mailing and the efficiency with which the return was handled.

Purchased this for a party and it came within a week. Great materiel and cut. I bought it big because other vests I have purchased came small. This one was exactly what they said it was going to be. Materiel was great and cut was professional. Vest can be used for multiple purposes, not just as a period costume. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again.

I just received the Middlethorpe Vest that I ordered and it is absolutely beautiful. Well made and simply beautiful. The fit is great and the quality is admirable. I love it!!!

Although a little baggy under the arms for my fit, fabric quality much better than I expected. Other re-enactors thought the pattern should also be on the rear, I preferred it the way it was.

A bit large, had to take it in a couple of inches, otherwise excellent!

I have two Scully vests almost identical but in two different colors. I wear them almost every night during the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day. They hold up quite well and are very nice looking...Even after all of the wear they get!

We will be attending a Jane Austen Society Regency Ball/Birthday Party soon, and I got my husband this handsome vest to wear with his other items of costuming. It is well made, a beautiful color, the L fits him well. I have a short dark green cape to wear with a white empire dress, and I think we shall make quite the attractive, older couple.

I've very happy with this item, as I've been with all the fine clothing I've bought here.
I do, however, wish that there were 'matching spats" and perhaps a bow-tie to go with so many things I've bought...or at least if they would buy some of the material from wherever they come from and offer it to purchase so I can have the spats made to match.
We do want our attire to be coordinated you know.

I love this vest! I purchased it to use with my formal outfit, and it truly is an exquisite work of art. The paisley adds a hint of sophistication, but there is a subtlety about it that keeps it from coming off as garish or gaudy. The wide lapels are an excellent look for a rather wiry lad like myself, as they seem to make my shoulders appear broader, at least to my eyes.

I have a pocket watch, so I was hoping the pockets would be functional so I could wear it with this vest. I was far from disappointed! The product page indicated that the pockets were real, but would likely be sewn shut, which indeed was the case. I easily removed the stitching from the top of each pocket using a seam ripper, and my watch slipped into the pocket without an issue. The chain fastens to the buttons without much difficulty as well, and the chain hanging across the front of the vest adds an extra bit of authenticity and elegance.

I paired this vest with the Opulent Paisley Ascot - Black, which has a similar if not identical pattern. The vest and ascot complement each other very nicely, and I am exceedingly pleased with the outcome of my order. I will be sure to purchase from the Emporium again! You can't go wrong with this kind of class!

The vest was of a decent quality, but to be honest, for the price I actually expected nicer. There were alot of loose strings, and the buttons seem very weak. I am actually afraid to unbutton it too often, So I usually slip it over my head to avoid buttoning it. For the price, I would have hoped for a little less worry. The fabric is very pretty though, and the shipping was super fast. Will likely buy again, but will hope for better quality.

I tried it on once a realize it was a bit to big so I sent it back for and even exchange from extra-large to a large ...will let ye know soon!

I finally tried it on to see and realize its slightly to big and needed to exchange it from Extra -Large to Large....

This vest truly has a unique style, with offset lapels one of which has a hidden button closure. And speaking of buttons, a double breasted presentation with 10 cloth-covered buttons make for a time to linger long on fastening this fine waistcoat and enjoy its luxurious and dashing feel. I have to admit that I deliberately purchased the wrong size. Mediums were sold out. And I have seen other fine vests disappear from the Emporium, so I wasn't certain it would be restocked and purchased a Large. I had it tailored and it fits me like...well... like a fine-tailored waistcoat. A great vest if you can get your size.

This vest is superb. The double breasted styling, wide buttoned lapels, and rich, subtle paisley brocade make this a knockout. The emerald green is actually even better looking in person; it is subtle.

This MiddleThorpe vest and the Kendall vest are such a unique find in the world of vintage, I'd like to see them offered in slim sizes and long sizes. Additional colors too.

I had been searching the internet for the a particular vest for a cosplay, and this one delivered. It's quality is incredible, as this could be worn even for real-life formal events and such. Very impressive and overall incredible shopping experience.

I'm 59 years old and still working. Have to dress business professional and this vest with my bow tie has really grabbed positive attention. The full dress suit got to hot this summer so I down sized to a vest so to speak. The middlethorp is great.
