They appear as the proper style i was after. Only hope they stay on when the special party I bought them for is here. A costume party of course.l will know this December.

Exactly as pictured and described. These will be the perfect addition to the groom and his attendants in our wedding party. Our colors are navy and gold, so the guys are wearing navy suits and gold continental ties with these spats. Not tried them on yet, but they look awesome.

This compliments my attire for many different occasions. I'm a returning customer who enjoys dressing in the style of the Victorian Era and also this style is what I generally wear at the plethora of events we attend hawking our wares favoring wildlife. This outfit fit quite well other than the frock coat that visited my tailor who worked his magic. Remember It's impossible to create any garment that fits everyone. Coats and pants are probably the top two on the list. Unless you're one of the lucky ones who on occasion gets something off the rack that fits to a tee, most dress clothing requires some amount of tweaking.

Beautiful product but it is very hard to use. The buttons are very hard to put in place and you must twist and turn in order to get this to work.

These are going in my Airship Pirate Doctor attire, and hide a secret as they cover knee high boots I piratized and go excellently with the overall look making them look like dandy brown dress shoes, along with the Sable Brushed Trousers that complete the covering. Suburb quality of any aspiring gentleman.... or sneaky pirate

I purchased a different pair on line and was disappointed with the quality and returned them. I ordered a pair from Historical Emp., they arrived in a timely manner and were of excellent quality and not a cheap costume piece like the first ones I received from a different Amazon Co. that were cheap vinyl China made prop.

High quality materials and solid construction. Looks good with my period tuxedo ensemble. Only wish there were more color options like possibly black-on-red Paisley. Will definitely stop here for my future needs.

Ordered a pair of these to dress up my Formal Hufflepuff outfit and they're great! In the past I've only be able to find cheap, vinyl costume spats which, while effective, have also been rather uncomfortable. These were much more comfortable, especially about the ankle (I have just over a 9" ankle and ordered a pair in small), and look smashing! I'm already looking at different styles and colours.

This is my newest pair of Spats from the Emporium and they helped set off my evening at the Tremont in Galveston this year for the Dickens Fest. Got all kinds of complements on my dress . very well made and stylish, , will wear them again to the black tie dance and diner for Christmas .

Well made, good looking spats. I use them for LARP and put them over a pair of Easy Spirit leather tennis shoes so that I can walk around on site with slightly less modern looking shoes that keep me from hurting my poor foot bones. The elastic has held up well so far (two three-day events so far) and I have gotten lots of compliments on them.

They fitted well although it took some effort to button them.

Great spats! Fit perfectly but what surprised me the most was the quality of materials used. Very impressed and will be buying more clothing from this site!
