James Edward Barlow, Circuit Judge
The son of a local minister, Judge Barlow studied law with T. R. Butler in New Orleans. As one of the first settlers in the area, he has served in a variety of positions including county clerk, justice of the peace and now circuit judge. He divides his time between hearing cases down at the courthouse and managing his vast land holdings which include office buildings, houses and several horse farms.
Known about town as a most convivial fellow, his sponsorship of the annual barbeque in the town square has insured his continued popularity and makes him a shoo-in for reelection this fall.
