They look really good, especially considering how flat my feet are and my 2 pairs of bunions. The inner sides do not fall in but they don’t hurt either, and the two different materials make them look way thinner than they actually are. Also they are wide enough to fit my medical insoles, and they are warm !
Only problem is they are a little wide at the ankle and I'm not sure how to tie them tighter
I've gotten compliments everytime I wear them and they are comfortable enough for a night out. Perfect fit and great quality!
I normally wear a size 10 in American Duchess shoes, but since I was planning to wear my thick woolwn socks under theese, i sized up to a 10.5. They are a little wobbly since i sized up, but I'm a wheelchair user so it doesn't really matter lol!!! even without the wool socks, these are nicely warm, and have already survived me rolling around in the snow in my yard!!! and since they have the heel, it relieves strain on the back of my legs and my lower back injury!!!
They keep me.nice and warm, without making me overheat inside!!! They're also incredibly fucking cute, and I have gotten several compliments already. Plus: the velvet(een?) doesn't crush or lose the pile when wet!!!
I’m so obsessed with these boots! I first preordered them in pink and they were so good I had to get them in red too. The red ones I got half a size down and they fit much better than the pink. I would say these run just a little big, size down if you have narrow feet. The quality is amazing and they are comfortable too. I live in a snowy region so I appreciate the rubber sole and warm lining. I own seven pairs of AD shoes now and these are my favorites yet.
I love these shoes! They're super comfy and adorable. They're well-insulated without making my feet sweat and the fuzzy cloth placement is perfect! I live in Los Angeles and will wear them with lighter clothing as it doesn't get too cold here and it's perfect. I wore them on a trip in November to Chicago and it worked wonderfully there as well. Since it has a lining at the bottom edge of the shoe it was super easy to clean and worked well even in the snow! It had a great grip and I walked around in it comfortably all day. 10/10 you will get so many compliments!
Beautiful to look at, wear, and share! I always receive compliments on my footwear when wearing American Duchess. These boots are snug, warm, perfect for the Appalachian weather. I tend to wear a wide size, but these do not pinch anywhere. The fit is snug, and comfortable.
These are iconic, practical, comfortable (they’re like the heel-flat to me), eye-catching shoes. They are the toast of where I live; most places I go people of all kinds compliment them with delight. They’re durable, day-to-day, and out on the town shoes, they work for any occasion. People are drawn to them and I always plug American Duchess. My gf ONLY wears shoes from American Duchess. 😍
My comment on SIZING: for these, I chose to go my size - 8.5 - and they work with regular socks. They are too tight and don’t work with thick winter socks. It’s not a problem because the shoe itself is warm!
You've discovered the secret of Alpens - you can't wear them out of the house without people stopping you to compliment your shoes! (Seriously, I've advised folks to select a different style to wear if they don't want strangers to start talking to them, lol)
Just got my first pair during the Black Friday sale, and decided to wear them out for errands to break them in. They were IMMEDIATELY comfortable. I shopped for an hour in Target and they practically felt like sneakers on the first wear. I usually do not find heels comfy and need a platform for extended wear, but these shoes are a DREAM.
I was drawn to these shoes after being obsessed with the WW2 fur lined galoshes that Barbara Stanwick wears in Christmas In Connecticut, but I bought them in red since I have a similar shoe in black from Lulu Hun. This shoe is honestly way more comfy, and since its not suede I can wear it more.
tl;dr practically feel like sneakers, so beautiful, these will not be my last American Duchess shoes.

I am so grateful these are made in half sizes too, I often have to deal with a squishy 10 or a roomy 11. So it’s always a relief to have a 10.5! I wish these were in more colors that I could incorporate into my wardrobe (an olive/ivory trim, or full chocolate brown shoe+trim anyone?).
I can’t believe how comfortable they are as well, truly a testament to good craftsmanship as I’ve walked for hours in these back to back and have no foot pain or discomfort.
Also note: I applied the water resistant spray before first wear and I’m happy to report they returned to virtually the same color after drying.
And American Duchess team, if you read this, please consider the chocolate brown and/or olive/ivory colors in the future!

I live in Chicago which is known for brutal winters. However, it’s hard to find cute winter boots, especially that have fur AND look cute with vintage wool coats. I got the pink version of these and they’re adorable. PLEASE restock these in black so I can have a black pair for the winter!

This was my first pair of American Duchess boots & I was a little nervous about it - they are exceedingly distinct, they were out of the sizes above & below mine, the return policy sounded strict, & I had no idea how sizing worked here. Fortunately, I had no reason to be worried! Holy moly, these shoes are SO ADORABLE. I can't wait for it to be cold enough to wear them out, but in the meantime I have been wearing them around the house to break them in. Tbh, I don't think they need it because they are unbelievably comfortable. I am on my feet all day for work, so comfort is a priority. I've worn these shoes all day over the weekend & they don't even feel like heels. I am so glad I took a chance on these Mrs Claus-esque boots & I am already eying other American Duchess pairs.
These booties are all I was hoping for. They fit just a tad snug, the look is fantastic and the style and color will go great with a wool winter coat i just bought. I will have to keep checking back for another color which was out of stock in size 12. Please consider making these in a size 13 or a 12 wide.
