Callahan Frock Coat - Gray

This is my second Callahan Frock Coat. I portray Charles Dickens in a one-person recital of "A Christmas Carol" that is a recreation of one of his (in)famous soirées. These are the right fit and length and really do add a nice Victorian touch.

This is a very well made garment. The fit is perfect. It a true Frock coat so it’s heavy. I bought it for an evening event (I hope it’s a cool evening 😁).

Loved the look and feel of the fabric. Wish the pants to march were instock.

Fits well. I got a lot of positive comments at the historical society dinner including a couple of questions about where I got it.
All in all a great transaction.

Awesome coat, sizing is appropriate given that this is not a coat you button up, you leave it open to show off your rocking vest. If you want to button it, add 1 to 2 sizes to get it button. However, if you treat it as an open coat, in my case, it is fitted appropriately.

This frock coat is a great fit as sewn . I'm very pleased with the purchase . The lining contributes to warmth and with days in the teens and single digits most welcomed !

Right Out of Tombstone - Great Look

Super look. Slimming fit. Note, this is the same Frontier Classics coat sold elsewhere as a "Tombstone Coat". Seems well constructed overall. But, one issue I see is there tends to be a funny crease at the shoulder padding in the front of the shoulder area. Perhaps needs different pad, or something? I appreciate Historical Emporium offering the long sizes for those of us with long arms. Other websites do not even mention that long size is available.

Am going to wear this suit for an event in my town (Tall Stacks Riverboat regatta) where period dress is encouraged. This coat fits perfectly. It is period-correct to the last detail. Excellent quality. Stunning!

The jacket overall fits well, it was a bit short in the arm lengths for my 6"7" arms. GREAT communication overall with Historical Emporium !!

Ordered this as part of the costume for one of the leads in our upcoming show. He's kind of a fussy guy but when I opened the box and saw this coat I thought: 'hurray! He's going to be so pleased! But when he tried it on, sigh. He immediately started fussing about the front area between the shoulder, sleeve, and lapel. It was very stiff and hung awkwardly. Groan. I was so desperate I immediately investigated, and indeed, part of the garment construction is a very heavy, rather large piece of stiff canvas sewn into that area. To give it structure, I get that, but we just couldn't get it to hang right on him. Le Sigh. It's still an absolutely stunning garment, though, and I'm definitely keeping it for our group's costume closet. Luckily most of our actors aren't as fussy, so I know we'll get years of use from it!

One of the numerous privations inflicted upon me after being cast 140 years into the future, was the utter lack of any clothing that bespoke my due place in society. Great coat!

Purchased for Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly; we decided it was time to build our late Victorian costume stock by investing in a few quality pieces. Unfortunately, this jacket reads dark green, not true grey. Also it was folded for so long that there are deep creases where the shoulder padding meets the front of the jacket that I don't would come out without major steaming. I plan to exchange for a wool frock coat, assuming the 40R works for this long-armed actor; otherwise will have to use this one in black (due to the unfortunate greenish tinge of the grey cotton).

Goes well with other old west clothing.

A nice looking coat but was advertised as cotton but in reality is only 75% cotton. Might get to use this if I change the buttons. Good fit though.

I ordered this and several other items for my daughter's upcoming wedding. The entire package arrived several days earlier than expected, and I was skeptical of the purchase, but once receiving all the items I realized the material quality was high the fit was perfect and the price was great. I could not have bought a suit for the same price. I am amazed at the outstanding customer service from historical Emporium. I even had to change my pants size day after I ordered and it was corrected and I received the proper fit.

Looked great, fit well, terrific details on the back. Pair this with a top hat and some plaid pants and you're good to go!

All items ordered were of better quality than I could have imagined. The occasion has not occurred yet. No doubt the clothes will make a statement.
