These shoes are absolutely gorgeous in person, and SO comfortable! I'm wearing them in a show with dancing and running, and have no issue moving around in them for hours at a time. They fit perfectly (I'm usually a 10, and these were true to size.)
I never want to take them off!!
I had one other pair of American Duchess shoes, so I saved up for these lovely ones! The green color is almost a neutral, and like always they are super comfortable!
It's a great shoe. When I needed a half size up, the return process was easy, and the staff was so friendly. You all get 5 stars for the service alone ♡
However, I need to purchase some extra padding for the ball of the foot as I am not used to heels.
The style of these shoes reflects a bygone era of dressing formally. The size is a bit smaller than is comfortable for me but they can be worn in a non walking situation. They are lovely!
After reading the online reviews, I ordered a half size up. I am almost always a perfect 8B. I don’t usually order wide and typically get shoes that are a size 8 to fit perfectly. The 8.5 was painfully narrow and too small. Perhaps if a wide option was offered that might sell some issues, but unfortunately it is not so I will be returning them.
Leather shoes will soften and stretch a bit with wear, so do keep that in mind! The Elsie is also a very pointy toed style - while most folks will wear their usual size in the Elsie, some folks who have a very straight across or squared off shape to their toes (rather than a diagonal) may find getting the right size in a pointy toed style tricky. The leather is beautiful. The craftsmanship is evident from our first look, and the comfort and fit are perfect. She found the shoes to be very comfortable from the very first time she tried them on. Overall, we are very happy with the colour, fit, style and quality of the shoes.
I had been looking at these shoes for awhile and decided to buy them for my birthday this September. I’m a size 6.5 but multiple reviews advised to buy a half size up so I got a size 7. They fit perfectly and they are relatively comfortable to wear all day in an office.
GORGEOUS shoes!!!!!!!!!! As others have mentioned they are tight. I just now ordered up one size and will be sending the smaller size back. The other 2 pairs that I ordered fit great. So it is just this style that is smaller. I hope this is helpful for anyone buying these.
I wanted something a bit more special, yet not painful, to wear for my full orchestral ‘concert black.’ These add a certain something, while also being reasonably practical for all the walking around back stage & hauling my instrument to and from. I’m sure I’ll be the envy of the horn section this Fall, LOL!
They are slightly snug through the toes, and I’m counting on the leather expanding to fit better with wear.
I love these shoes! They are very well-made and very stylish. They go great with slacks as well as tea-length dresses. I am definitely going to order more in their classic selections. Well done!

Fit is great and the workmanship beautiful as expected. A versatile shoe and comfortable even for longer walking/standing events.
I ordered a size 10 which has worked well for the AD regular (non-wide) shoes I have ordered in the past. These shoes feel narrower or tighter at the widest point than my previous shoes. I think the toe tapers sharper and earlier than other pointed shoes. I am going to try them on one more time and if they still feel in uncomfortable I will exchange for a larger size.
Lovely design, with lots of detail stitching. The color is just like it appeared onscreen. Comfortable fit and right on size.
These match/go with 3 of my spring/summer dresses perfectly. They will be my "Easter shoes"!

I've already had to return them once and am returning them again because they don't fit. I am asking this time for an entire size up from my regular shoe size.

I initially ordered a 7 because your web site says they fit "true to size" and I wear a 7. Your size chart on your own web site has a size to inch to cm ratio -- even though you also say not to measure your feet, but it's there -- and my feet are 9 inches pretty much on the dot. I have no idea if the problem is the toe since I can't get my foot into them. I realize you are trying to be helpful, but as this is a new design, I am giving you some honest feedback that these shoes are much smaller than they are supposed to be. Honestly your response is coming across as really argumentative when I am just trying to advise people that the shoes might be much smaller than they anticipated. I have to return them again and will continue to return them until they fit. If that means I have to order an 8.5 when I wear a standard size 7, then the problem is your shoe and not my feet. Thank you.
These are really cute and high quality, but they run really small. All of my other shoes from AD have been a 7.5 regardless of style, and my regular shoe size is a 7. Order 1 or 1.5 sizes up if you want these to fit on the first try.
