I like my shoes to be Mary Poppin’ and these absolutely are! I also have back pain and have to be careful about footwear, these were supportive and comfortable out of the box. I. Ant recommend highly enough.
I have the purple Endoras, and they are by far my most interesting, beautiful, and comfortable heeled shoes. I wear them with modern clothes, walking all around the city, or dancing at a Victorian ball, and they're always perfect. I've worn them so much I've had to sew the buttons back on a couple times! I go back and forth between wide or regular with AD shoes, but these fit me great in a 9 regular.
All the shoes, these included, are a perfect fit and the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had! Definitely will be buying more!
These shoes are wonderful. I usually wear a 9 to 10 depending on the shoe, and the 9.5 was a perfect fit. The craftmanship is excellent and I get compliments anytime I wear them out and about. They do get quite uncomfortable after about an hour of wear, though. Overall, beautiful shoes, and although they're very expensive, I expect for them to last a long time.
We're glad you like them! Keep in mind that these are leather shoes, and do have a bit of a break in period. We don't suggest wearing them all day straight out of the box; your feet won't like that very much! Wear them for an hour or so at first, and then increase the time until they've softened. If you've been breaking them in for a while and they're still feeling ouch, reach out to us at info@americanduchess.com and we'll chat about what might be happening and ways to resolve it!
This is the third pair of shoes I have ordered from American Duchess in the last six months or so. They are all fantastic & I've started evangelizing them to all of my coworkers. I am on my feet for between 5 & 11 hours a day, depending on the day, & so I require shoes that keep my tootsies happy. But I also have to look nice, as I work in the beauty industry, & finding something that is both attractive & doesn't give me blisters or cramps is tough. I've definitely come to rely on AD for this! These Endora shoes have me feeling as stylish & confident as Endora from Bewitched, & frankly, the comfiness of them has me thinking they may very well be, uh, bewitched. These I did size up one half size more than my usual 9.5 & I'm glad I did. I think I am gonna be ordering a buttonhook with my next AD order though!
My first ever button shoes. I got the purple and green options, and the purple is my favorite. I would have bought the red also if it was available in my size. They sold me on how easy button shoes can be! Keep in mind i have size W4 feet, so the W5 fits perfectly if a smidge big.
This color is amazing, they’re so gorgeous. I’m glad I took the plunge and bought them. Comfortable right out of the box, I very rarely wear any heels and these are so lovely and didn’t even irritate my wonky knee. My only “issue” is that I cannot get these buttons undone, luckily my foot can fit in without using the buttons (so far).
Hi Emily, you can push the buttons back through the button hole with your thumb in a rolling motion. Once you get them undone, we do recommend the use of a button hook to fasten the buttons again. If you're still having issues with the buttons, you can email our customer service team at info@americanduchess.com and they'll be happy to do their best to help you!
I ordered my usual AD size 6.5 (half size up) and these are too narrow and too long. A 7 would be way too long, so i can't size up again. Also, the green looks a bit brighter in pics than in person, the shoes were a bit more olivey than arsenic green, imo. Otherwise, I'm sure they are as fantastic as all my other AD shoes.
We're sorry to hear the Endoras didn't fit quite right out of the box! Pointy toed styles can be tricky for some feet, but we do have fitting experts on hand to sus out what exactly the trouble is and how to best resolve them. We're more than happy to assist with fitting woes, just reach out to info@americanduchess.com and we'll discuss what the best options are for your particular feet!
What a great addition to my wardrobe! These shoes are high quality and comfortable! I love the design! Highly recommend.
This shoe enables you to be historically accurate with your costume or dress while still being comfortable…plus you carry my size a 5!
Ok first … this apple green , bright mossy color is gorgeous. Perfect design, the vents are venting but it not show tow cleavage ( win) The buttons just gives it that vintage pop - comfy- good heel height. A great spring summer witchy shoe 💕
The shoes are very beautiful, however, the left shoe is definitely smaller than the right, I could fit into the left shoe by size but could not button the shoe at all.
Hi Dawn! The right and left shoes are made on identical mirrored lasts and are identical in size. Unlike shoe lasts, humans don't come perfectly symetrical - everyone has one foot that's a little bit bigger than the other. Whenever you're wearing a close fitting heel or dress shoe, you'll want to size for your right foot, and then use an insole or padding on the left shoe.
I sized up for these. I usually wear a 7 in other shoes but because of the pointed toe, an 8 was much more forgiving on my toes. I also used the foot petals to try to prevent my toes sliding into the point. I would love to see these in wide. I feel like in wide I could fit in an insole for a bit more comfort on the bottom of the foot.
I wore my new Endoras in arsenic green to church yesterday. I sing in the choir, and they were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. I love the leather insides as some synthetics annoy my skin. The French heel is sturdy, and I feel stable in them both standing and walking. I love the "striped" top, too! These shoes are an all-around joy for me. They are definitely not just for historical re-enactments or cosplay.
I almost went with the purple version but switched to the arsenic green at the last minute, thinking they'd coordinate and happily contrast with more things in my wardrobe. It was a good call! They're a gorgeous color with a sort of golden undertone - one of my coworkers thought it almost started to come back around to working as a neutral color. The heel shape is very elegant, and all the usual quality I expect from American Duchess was present.
I ordered a 7 and found it true to size -- keeping in mind that it needs to be paired with hosiery or very thin trouser socks. I'd go up half a size to pair with regular socks, if desired.
It seems AD's sizing has gotten a half size smaller with their newer releases. My Bernadettes, Penelopes, and Endoras were all 8.5s and all run small--I exchanged my Endoras for a 9 and I'm so glad that I did, the 8.5s (which is what I almost exclusively get from AD) would've left me with blisters.
That being said, I LOOOOVE them as 9s. They are so comfy, I walked and played around in them for several hours and never once felt an ounce of discomfort. The heel height is great, they feel sturdy, and they look amazing and get sooo many compliments! Wonderful shoes, I'm so glad I got them!!
