These are the real deal, very sturdy construction to handle every day wear. I ordered a size up over my normal jeans size because I have a belly and they fit perfectly.

Outstanding quality. Fits true to size. Love the color and stripes. My third pair of trousers from this company. They have all held up very well.

My favorite part about these pants is the suspender buttons positioned higher up on the back with a tightening strap to make that clean fit around the waist. They feel great to move around in too.

I really like these pants super comfortable my skin is super sensitive and these pants are no problem which really makes the difference for me. As for the fit perfect hangs really nice I have gotten multiple compliments while wearing them out regularly. I rolled the ankles but I might get the pants hemmed now because I know I like them a lot.

Really Good

This is my new favorite outfit. I feel like a fancy banker or perhaps a mobster. The color is like a worn/distressed navy and the stipes add a dapper touch that accentuates my 6'3" super slim frame. The buttons match the stripes nicely. I feel as the fabric and pattern will wear well for many years. I'm a bit in between sizes, 42" chest, but the medium fits handsomely. 36" waist is my normal, stayed with 36" and they fit great. I do wish the best came in a tall option, but it covers my suspender tabs and waist strap on my trousers. I couldn't wear it with modern waisted pants, but again I'm 6'3" and 190 lbs. I have several vest and trouser sets from Historical Emporium, super excited to finally have something blue.

These pants are super classy, and high quality. I purchased them for a Halloween costume, but will be wearing them on a regular basis. I love them.

I've never been disappointed with any Historical Emporium product....until I ordered these trousers.
The striping / colouring is great....but the pants are really long waisted (reaching the bottom of ribcage) and, after washing, heavily wrinkled and stiff as canvas. They'll need more than a good pressing to look good ....maybe rolling over with a steam roller!

I WILL STICK TO WAHMAKER AS MY TRIED AND TRUE BRAND OF PANTS. They didn't come in humboldt stripe so I ordered this brand.
Bad move. Maybe the manufacturer could consider pre-washing the material (stone-washed?) using some kind of softening agent before cutting and assembling these pants.

Having washed them, I will keep them, but cut and sew them into a vest instead. Too hard and stiff for my comfort level.

Picked these up for a costume. I'm a 32W/34L. The pants that arrived felt more of a 33W and 35L. I say this without having measured a thing. Ordinarily I would have sent them back for a smaller size, but the roominess allows me to make some killer dynamic poses. So it's all good!

Love the design, construction and durability of this product line.

The trousers are well made. You need to have the inseam altered for your length.
Also the Crotch needs to be brought up as it hangs to low. But it’s worth it for a
pair of quality Trousers.

these pants are very well made, from a sturdy jean-like material. They are more bluish in color than the pictures show and you WILL need hemming - Unless you are 7' tall. Mine came with flat buttons (although the pictures show some ornaments on them). Also I followed the instructions and bought one size up from my normal pants size and they are quite a bit loose. But you can adjust the strap in the back - there is quite a bit of room.

Overall I am pleased with the purchase - it should work quite well with the Canvas work vest I bought as well.

I was thrilled when they arrived. Ordering one size larger, as suggested, the fit is perfect and very comfortable. These high quality, durable, denim-like trousers will wear a long time, and are just the thing to wear; whether you're laying track for a railroad or heading out for the Spring Quadrille at Mrs. Huffington's, the style is perfect.
I use them for every day wear, and love them.

They come very long so they need done adjustment but look and fit great.

I give these trousers a five star rating. Choose one size up. I went with a size 52 waist. Truly authentic victorian or western look and very comfortable. Unless you are super tall, be prepared to take up the inseam; for me, I went up 7 inches. I did it myself using special self-stick velco made for fabric, which you get at certain fabric chain stores. Or go to your tailor. I love these trousers. I also bought the matching homboldt vest. You need suspenders or Y-back braces to hold these trousers up.

Great quality and fit. I followed the instructions and ordered one size up and had no problem with size. I will say I am medium build with proportionate weight. Even if you are larger in size I think one or two sizes up from your normal size should work with no problem.

A nice change from the more traditional black and black pinstripe suits I'd usually wear, the Humboldt stripe trousers, when worn with the matching Humboldt waistcoat, are guaranteed to make you stand out. They work well as casual trousers or something more formal, or for workwear (try matching the Humboldt trousers and waistcoat with the Livingston black brushed cotton town coat, black boots, a white shirt and a black tie. Trust me - it works). The trousers are generously cut (a little loose in the middle, truth be told; the adjuster in the back takes up some of that slack), and the fabric has a nice texture to it that does lend itself to play as much as work. The buttons match the colour of the stripe perfectly, by the way. If you're thinking of buying them, I'd recommend it; you won't be disappointed.

Pants vary in sizes, it's a hit and miss. One 34 will fit like a 33 or 35.

Great pants. Did not realize I had to get them tailored locally. They are keepers, beautiful pinstripes. The long legs made for a good laugh. However, it would have been nice if you noted in the description the pants needed to be tailored.

I purchased these because the trousers in the Musicians Outfit were discontinued. This was a nice substitution. I will have to have the length altered to fit. Other than that this is an excellent product

The material of these trousers is very heavy and sturdy - good and long-lasting, I expect - which is what I was looking for. The trousers are attractive, too, and serve me at work (they have a bit of a pinstripe look about them, really sort of fits even contemporary looks). I am very happy with them, as with all H.E. products. Thanks folks!

This is made with a ver thick material. The color is more blue than the image suggests, like a dark denim. One washing ans it faded on the edges and irregularly on the legs quite noticeably. The fit was right when I ordered a 30 when I usually wear a 29. The rear was huge though and I had to have my tailor take over 4 inches out of the seat...but I have no butt. The rivets are quite sturdy. My coworker who is a casting agent said my outfit was perfect and she could put me right in a movie.
