Whether walking, riding, or resting a spell, our Patterson Trousers keep you comfortably covered. Versatile and inspired by the sensible style of the 1800s, this pair is bound to become a favorite.

Made from 100% brushed cotton with a soft, suede-like finish, these trousers are cut true to the era with a high waist and button-front fly. Two front slant pockets and one rear inset pocket provide space for daily necessities. Exterior suspender buttons and a back buckle adjuster ensure an authentic fit.

Fashioned from 100% cotton. Imported. Dry clean only. Hemmed with a 36-inch inseam. Available in sizes 26–60. Part of our Patterson Collection and offered in several colors.

Sizing Notes

As you can see from the photos, these old fashioned trousers sit higher on the body than modern pants do.

For best fit, measure your torso (in inches) just below your belly button, and select this size of trousers.

In many cases, this will be one or more size above your customary pants size.
Inseam

Our trousers come with a 36 inch inseam. If you need them shorter, you will need to have them tailored locally to your desired fit.

We received our order promptly upon ordering online. All of the items are very durable for much wear for living history programming. We would like to see the clothing become more and more authentic in the patterns of each era being depicted and sold even if the prices are a bit higher for greater historical accuracy.

Heavy. Good heavy fabric. Heavier than the canvas saddle pants.
Picture, to me, looks green. Good smoke grey when in hand.
Fit is accurate. Will need to be hemmed if you aren't a longshanks.

Great product and service...

I've been quite happy with the product and service I've received from Historical Emporium over the years. The Patterson and Livingston trousers are no different. The fit is perfect using the measuring guide. Follow the instructions, though; these do not fit like modern pants. The quality is outstanding; if they're like previous trousers I've owned from Historical Emporium, I know they will last for many years of frequent wear. The brushed cotton is very unique; a soft peach-fuzz texture, but also durable like jeans.

As for customer service, my orders have always shipped promptly. When I needed to exchange a product, it was taken care of quickly. When I've had questions, the customer support team replied to my emails promptly and professional. Overall, I highly recommend these trousers and Historical Emporium.
