Liked the look, really brought the outfit together. Style complemented the linen shirt and helped cover up the suspenders. Sizing was a little on the small side which affected the lay of the vest. Medium vest over a small shirt.

Use this a a chuckwagon cook waist coat. This just what I’m looking for

no matter what outfit you are wearing. A couple of years ago I decided to wear suspenders rather than keep tightening my belts. Vests are perfect to cover suspenders. Historical Emporium has the best selection of well made, good looking vests I could find, and I checked out almost every site on the Web. The service is terrific and the shipping is beyond speedy. One coat that I ordered was a little too heavy for my likes and, even though it had been a special order, there was no quibble from Historical Emporium about my returning it. I will continue to check out their period clothing and plan to keep purchasing from them whenever I need more. They are worth a try!

I was looking for a straight bottom vest. I probably would have bought this all cotton beauty in sable, but my size was sold out. NO REGRETS! This is not only a soft, well-sized, extremely well-made NOT from China garment, it is really a complement to all my clothes, (most of which are HE products, due to their overall quality). Seriously, one of the best "side features", it is well-lined and just heavy enough not to wrinkle whether riding or sitting for long periods. Frankly, I'll bet any color will be a sound purchase for you, so don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I did when I bought this Sand Mountain vest, because til now, I've been wearing a black goat hide, pointed front vest. My highest recommendation on this garment.

This is the third Sand Mountain vest I've bought, and like the others it's a workhorse item that nevertheless manages to look good. The color is bright, but not gaudy; and I find that it works well at formal or casual events.

The vest seems to be constructed for durability; and although the fit is a bit tight, the garment can stretch a bit to accommodate a beefier shirt or (ahem!) a large meal.

If you value versatile items, I believe that this would be a good basic purchase.

this is the third vest I have tried to fit and again it is way to large in arm pits. fits around middle but arm hole poke out forward. looks weird..

I ordered this vest in Medium, which is long enough to wear with Victorian high waist trousers or modern blue jeans. This is a perfect compliment to wear with the Sable Frock Coat and Trousers, and it is dressy enough to wear with modern dark brown suit or laid-back in dark brown jeans and leather jacket. I love the extra pockets, which are deep enough to carry lots of useful items.

Really nice quality and fit. I ordered a large as a 6foot tall guy and it’s a little big which is better than too small. The strap on the back adjusts pretty well and it is a metal buckle. I hope it stays nice after I wash it in a few months
