Adore this slouch hat. Plans to peyote bead the rim in rattlesnake pattern to match the rattlesnake hat band I made.

I bought this hat to to wear occasionally while not at work, but so far it's been the only hat I've worn. I have received many compliments on it and it's easy to forget I'm wearing it. Keeps the sun off and the light weight makes it very comfortable. I would definitely buy again

This Slouch Hat is very well made. I ordered an extra large and had to had a little extra band to the inside for a good fit. I really like this hat, especially the wide brim.

Historically accurate, great quality, good price, looks great, lots of compliments, forms quickly, easily and nicely into everything a Slouch Hat should be. I have no doubt that I'll be wearing it for years to come, and it's only going to get better with age. Very happy with the hat itself and the entire customer service experience.

Love the quality and looks of this hat

This has to be the most comfortable hat I've ever had! Light wool felt that seems to breath a bit better than others I've had. Not too tight or loose or any feeling of heaviness or other. It looks good with my face shape and all too. Really seems to suite me well for the price. Workmanship is good too. I changed the band to one of western diamondback rattler like JB Books and it looks even better yet! I'll be back...

I was skeptical about how this hat would look and fit. When I got it,I have worn it every day so far.

Best fitting cowboy hat I've ever had. It is soft and fits my head well (not like those starched cowboy hats that feel like bricks on your head). I'm hoping you get a white or tan one some day.

Purchased it for my husband who had one years ago. He likes it but was hoping it had a wider brim.

First, a note of caution on sizing: I wear a size 7 3/8, and the large was too big. But the medium fits perfectly. Customer service promptly sent me a replacement size.

The hat is stylish, certainly for casual wear, but can also accessorize a nice top coat or jacket. The wide brim, not only serves to protect against the sun, but keeps the rain off, lessening the need for an umbrella. This will be especially useful for hiking. I haven't tried to fold it for packing, but that would really make it versatile.

It is too large. I used the "tape measurements" quoted in you guide to determine what size to order and it is too large.

I was very disappointed in the Slouch hat. It is too soft, and not of a high quality material. I fear it might wash away in the rain. It does not hold it's shape and is simply too soft. I am buying a bottle of hat stiffener to see if I can fix this hat and make it into something use able, but I cannot recommend this hat to anyone. It looks nice in the photo, but disappointing upon arrival.

I LOVE THE HAT BUT IF IT'S GRAY IT IS CHARCOAL GRAY CLOSE TO BLACK. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN AND MIGHT IN ANOTHER COLOR. I WARE A 7 1/8 SIZE HAT AND THIS MEDIUM FIT PERFECTLY.

The hat was as advertised, good quality and sizing was perfect.

This is just the ticket I have been looking for for those hot summer days, keep my poor melon covered and the sun off me. Very comfortable and fits like a glove. The colour is really much better then just black or brown...lol....everyone who has seen me wear it tells me it is a perfect hat for me. Thanks a lot.

Bought because I wanted to have a new hat ans was told that it was perfect for me and looks good in my collection of Historical Emporium hats. Looks great, fits great, so what more can you say about a great hat.

My husband wanted a hat like Charles Ingalls (you know...from Little House on the Prairie). He loves the hat and wears it every day when he works outside. It is so comfortable and not hot in our 90+ weather. I wish I had gotten him the size medium because the large goes over his ears, but he is not bothered by it. I measured and by the size chart he just barely needed a large....so, my only recommendation would be to size down if you're just barely over into the next size (within a half inch). I think this hat has stretched some.

This slouch hat is nothing special, like me. It's made in New York with Lite Felt. Lite Felt is just high quality, compact, felted-fur.
I'm wearing it now while writing this. I wear it everyday. It fits great and feels great all the time.
That's important for this hat because I'm always wearing it.
I have had problems in the past with other hats (all hats -even from NY HatCo) not being able to stretch to my headshape.
The hat in the photo is a tad light. The comments on this don't really make sense. Most all of the products on HE are separate from their lit counter-part. I'm just glad it's not glowing and green.
I will conclude this overly written review with the hat is simple. There is plenty of room for improvement. I might even throw the Gold Satin on...

The slouch hat I ordered and received is GREAT, I love that hat!!!

Have always liked the look of slouch hats and decided to get me one. Am very happy and have received many compliments on it too! Am estatic with my purchase and would recommend Hist. Empor and the hat to anyone!

This is a fine quality hat, but due to the lighting when photographed for this website, it appears to be almost a pigeon grey, but when you receive it, it's more of a darker slate grey. Beware of this when ordering so you won't be disappointed.
I intend to get plenty of use out of it, but not as I originally intended, as an Indian Wars Cavalry Slouch Hat.

I previously purchased your brown slouch hat and was so pleased with the high quality of the hat, I bought the gray one. I will buy the black slouch hat at a later date. I am so happy that I can find such quality goods at a reasonable price. I will continue to shop at the Historical Emporium for all my western needs.
