Twill Bustle Skirt - Navy

Glad I got the bigger size as it gives me a little lead way. Fits great and can't wait to wear it for our western hullabaloo days that will be coming up. Thank you for your wonderful help.

Great for my needs, but ohh the elastic. Yes, I ordered a large. But the elastic must be for petite people. I had to rip it out and replace it with a more comfortable piece. Even if I dropped ten pounds the waist would have been too tight.

To be used in June for Victorian gathering at the Hearthstone Museum.

As a docent at the Marcus Daly Mansion (Riverside) in Montana, I need in-period costumes to give tours. I am also a performer with our Acapella Society, singing at Christmas events. This comfortable and well-made skirt fits both venues. It has exceptional detail with the back ruffles, the slight A-line and can be used dressed or casual. I needed a small, but purchased medium, which will work for outdoor winter performances, covering the much-needed thermal underwear! I'm more of a petite, so the skirt is a bit long, but can be easily remedied, or even stylized further to create a slight train. Next time Mrs Daly appears, I'm sure she'll give a nod of approval!

The skirt is substantial and I like the flounces in the back. Very comfortable to wear with the all elastic waist.

Very impressive quality. It's a rather heavy weight fabric, I like the body it provides. I'm wearing it with the hoop skirt. It goes well with a black blouse for a widow look and I have a burgundy ruffle blouse that looks beautiful with it as well.

This skirt is well-made and perfect for the stage...very comfortable, too. I chose to wear a petticoat under it, but it also looks good without one.

The skirt will work for our Pioneer tools or our blacksmith demonstrations. I am short, so I will cut about 3 inches off the top of the skirt and put elastic back in. I may order a small hoop to wear with it. Great skirt.

This is the 2nd skirt I have purchased here. I bought this skirt 1 size smaller than my previous skirt because I know the sizes run large. It fits perfectly, partly due to the elastic waist. It is also the right length right out of the box (I had to have my other skirt hemmed). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs a basic Victorian skirt. Keep a lint roller handy, because the twill attracts almost everything!

Lovely navy skirt with back flounces. Well made and substantial. It is a bit long on me, though (I'm 5'3").

This is a comfortable skirt, but in my opinion it runs a little large. It does not come in petite sizes, which would be really nice as I have to roll up the waist to avoid dragging the skirt on the ground. Hemming it up is an option, but then the proportion of the length of the ruffles wouldn't look as nice in my opinion. One should also know that twill cotton is a heavy fabric, and there is quite a number of yards of fabric in this gathered skirt. So, the skirt is pretty heavy, as they likely were back in the day. It is 100% cotton and I have not laundered the skirt at this writing, so I cannot provide information on potential shrinkage or not or whether the fabric would fade.

This skirt looks great and just the period style I was looking for. I would have given it 5 stars if it fit more as expected. The waistband is elastic which helps make it comfortable, and I purchased a wide belt to wear over the waistband to give my outfit a little more of a finished look.

This is a very beautiful, well made skirt. It can be thrown in the washer and dryer and the folds and layers in the back can be touched up with an iron - don't have to dry clean! I'm paring this with a pair of victorian boots and the Abbington blouse. One could probably wear this skirt not as a costume, with a long sleeved V neck T-Shirt and a wide black belt.

This is a gorgeous garment. It is twill, so the hems will tend to fold over in the dryer and it will need a touch-up with an iron when it comes out. but you CAN put it in the washer and dryer, which is huge when you're talking about practical clothing. The length, weight, and drape of this are just beautiful. I have a thick waist, measuring around 36", and I ordered the XL. It fits well enough that I'm not going to exchange it but if I had it over I would order the Large -- there's ample stretch in the elastic and it would be a bit more snug/secure in the smaller size. Would love to see this offered in other colors!

This skirt appears to be of good quality and very durable. It will work well with the Georgiana blouse wearing it in our 1862 era museum building, whether as a school teacher, store keeper, or housewife.

This is a super skirt. I wear a size 18 or better and it fits to perfection. AND doesn't look too big. the ruffle is only in the back and makes a nice silhouette. the front panel hangs smooth, just as it should. I would buy this in other colors too, if only it were made in brown, rust, tan or navy.

This skirt is exactly what I was looking for! Great quality and sizing is perfect ! Being 5'11" talli was concerned about length- the length is exactly right!

This Bustle Skirt was excellent - I won a bottle of French Champagne so I am happy. Quick delivery, a little too large - but I think that is my fault for ordering Australian sizing!

This skirt came with plenty of length for me at 5'8". It is well constructed and the elastic had a comfortable amount of give. It looks good alone; but the twill has a soft hand after washing. I don't find this a detriment at all for it makes it very comfortable. But it loses a little fullness because of it. It also looks great over hoops or with just a small bustle pad.

Ordered this at the last minute before an event and so glad I did. Lovely weight and quality of fabric. Great, comfortable design. Looked great, was easy to put on and it fit nicely under a corset. If only it came in a lovely dark brown...sigh. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a bit of a fancier back but still maintaining a general simplicity and elegance.

This skirt is exactly as advertised and absolutely perfect!

This skirt is well made, however, I wish that there was a sized down version for the shorter customer. I did not want to lose any of the fullness of the skirt by hemming at the bottom, so... I have opted to lose some of the detailing at the waist by folding the material there to take out about five inches of fabric; the swing of the skirt will still be good, but I will lose most of the top ruffle of the skirt. (the petticoats will have to go through a similar process) If I could wear five inch stilts there would be no problem. I love the concept of this old skirt.

Awesome- fabric is substantial without being heavy, and has a nice 'sueded' feel to it. Sizing was accurate. I love having this staple in my closet!
