Collar button buttons up nicely . No more fights with putting on a tie . Will say collar needs starch to lay correctly . Very pleased with the purchase .

Noel recommended the Virgil Shirt to go with the double breasted vest to add versatility to the outfit. The shirt can be worn with the collar up or down for different looks. It fits perfectly. The quality is wonderful, the customer service was 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend any products from Historical Emporium.

What can be said about the functional simplicity of a white button up shirt, especially for period-accurate costumes? The shirt is high quality, the fit is nice as long as you take the time to take your measurements and order the appropriate size, and what was perhaps the most surprising aspect of this shirt: it's extremely comfortable.

The shirt is 100% cotton and feels very, VERY, nice on the skin and is very breathable. Pairs well with sleeve garters and bowties as well.

This is a very well crafted shirt that certainly looks time appropriate. It also wrinkles as though it is. The tailoring is excellent and the size fits true to size.

The clothing that I ordered are for a Hickory Golf Outing. I also do reenactments / rendezvous, 1800-1850. Everything that I ordered looks good and fits good.

Quality of shirt was very nice. Chest and arm fit was good but I to go to next size larger to get right size in neck. Easy process to exchange shirt.

I have bought Virgil Shirts in the past because they do have a left breast pocket and the overall look is very 1880's. It is big enough to wear as a night shirt as well. I had to unload previous shirts and trousers after I lost 200 pound since my last order three years back.

This shirt fits well and looks great. Excellent quality and easy to clean.

I am always wary of ordering clothes by mail or from the internet, but I needed a Victorian/Edwardian club-collared short, so I took a chance when I stumbled across The Gentleman's Emporium. To say the least, I'm glad I did.The shirt (of very high quality) fits perfectly (which isn't all that common as I lift weights four day/week). So why the "two perfect fits" title? Given this initial experience with the company, I'd say The Gentleman's Emporium is going to be an equally perfect fit for me. (Expect more orders.)

Looked on many other sites for rounded collars and had little luck. Gentlemen's Emporium had a great selection and the sizing recommendations were accurate. It's a great shirt.
