It was a moonlit night in 1893 when Dwight Merrill, a roustabout with a penchant for trouble, inadvertently saved an entire town from a catastrophic flood. Having set up a makeshift dam of stolen goods to hide his loot, he unknowingly prevented the river from overflowing its banks.
Now forever linked to the town, Dwight roams the surrounding lands, always on the lookout for his next adventure or ill-gotten gain, but never straying too far from the scene of his unintended heroism.
