Hazel Barrett, Egyptian Expeditionist
A respected natural philosopher and physician, Hazel Barrett won a coveted spot on the Royal Egyptian Expedition, an appointment, until now, reserved strictly for the most learned of gentlemen. Unlike the other ladies of the day, she is not particularly concerned with being perfectly coifed or dressing a la mode, but by all accounts Dr. Barrett is strikingly beautiful. However, offer her a flattering remark and she’ll scoff if it isn’t directed toward her intellectual prowess.
An accomplished equestrienne at home, the good doctor feels completely at ease riding the dromedaries native to the arid region. A good thing, because it is a several day trek to reach the Egyptian ruins that once was the hub of ancient civilization. Among the archeological rubble, she hopes to uncover valuable relics, such as mummified remains, medical implements and papyrus documents that would provide clues to the secret medical advancements of the Pharaohs.
