Widow Robinson is a lady of much stamina and fortitude. After crossing the frontier by coach she set up housekeeping in town with her husband Wilber, but fate intervened and he was among those lost in the great fire of three years ago. So, out of necessity, she found work outside the home.
As a young lady, she had trained in Mr. Pitman’s shorthand style, and she has put those skills to good use working as a stenographer for the local courts and businesses. She is highly valued for her accuracy and integrity, and well respected about town.
