If there has been an unexplainable, eleventh-hour change of heart, Rupert Briggs is most likely involved. As the right-hand man to the most notorious gangster in town, Briggs’ job is to make sure that the boss man’s negotiations run smoothly and on a timely schedule.

Those initially reluctant to accept Briggs’ terms seem eager to make a 180 degree change after a ‘persuasive’ closed-door visit.
