Authentic 1860s style suspenders — ideal for Civil War era portrayals and later 19th century impressions. Known historically as galluses, these reproduction suspenders are designed for serious reenactors and history enthusiasts seeking accurate period details.
Constructed from 1⅜-inch wide cotton webbing, they feature a sewn X-back design, replica metal size adjusters, and long leather button tabs at the front. Measuring approximately 51 inches in length, they are designed to fit most wearers.
Unlike modern suspenders, these period reproductions use metal prong adjusters that pierce the fabric rather than friction sliders or buckles. As a result, some wear to the strap material will occur with adjustment — just as it did historically. The front straps are intentionally long to accommodate various sizes; excess length was traditionally tied or tucked behind the straps.
Made from durable cotton webbing and vegetable-tanned leather.
Made in the USA.
