Nice jacket

I’m very impressed with this jacket. It’s a bit large but after I’m caught in the rain a couple of times and then it’s washed, I’m thinking it’ll be just right. I’ve not worn it yet as I’m waiting for my Jodhpurs to arrive. Pith helmet, cavalry boots, Jodhpurs, and my Blackthorn Swagger Stick that just arrived from Ireland should complete the outfit and then I’ll send you a picture.

I had a Hemingway moment in advance of a safari to Africa (where it will be winter) and thought a bush jacket would be both stylish and practical. I love pockets!! This is a medium-weight garment and it's unclear how it will hold up to hard use in the veldt. We will see.

It fits perfectly, good quality fabric -thick but comfortable. A little darker than the picture, it's khaki brown, not white.

It was a replacement for the old one that I got from Bass ProThis one is much much nicer.

My husband had two safari jackets that he purchased from a large sporting goods store years ago. They have been worn to tatters, but are no longer available. While searching for ones like them I came across Historical Emporium and the safari jacket here looked very similar. I received it much sooner than expected and was pleased that the fabric is even sturdier than what he had previously. It fits him well and he's very happy with it.

Our production of "Arsenic and Old Lace" called for a teddy. Roosevelt on safari look. The sizing was perfect, and the look authentic.

I came across your site and was amazed at the price and decided I would give this a chance. Well, usually "cheap" has taught me something of at least mediocre quality. Not this time!

The sizing guide was a big help in determining the size to get and the jacket does fit nicely. No stray threads or uneven seams. Worth more than the bargain price offered.

I only wish the bottom pockets had button-through closures; but that's easy to get done.

I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Top-notch safari jacket, old boy! Thrashed through 4 months of stage practice, lights, fake greenery, sweat, no laundering or hot iron applied, strutted about bossing my underlings and searching for elusive gorillas, got thrown about the stage dozens of times (repeatedly) for weeks by a long-haired ape-man, and the jolly old coat still has crisp edges with which a man could shave! Perfect for any safari-themed party, musical, or play, and is surprisingly comfortable. Fits true to size, and not a frayed stitch anywhere despite my best efforts to beat the blighter into oblivion via fisticuffs! Looks marvelous with a cravat and pith helmet, too. Can’t say enough about this wonderful item, which should be in every explorer’s haberdashery!!!!

As always.... great product from Historical Emporium...... A little big.... but will manage. I am afraid to go smaller size cause of last time when i ordered an XL...it was too small in the Chest.
Now i am ready to go on my big Hunting adventure....... VAN PELT.....

I like the coat a lot was not sure the measurements had and if buy again and probably will i get xl i am 5'10 3/4 about 170lbs and slender to med build the jacket fits fine but around elbows wish about inch or two baggier but i wear it and do like it- fits tight and buttons very tight in the holes course suppose be like that so bugs cant crawl through the space between buttons and the hole they go through- belt i generally do not wear but in drizzle rain i probably would. not much room for shirt underneath but tee shirt or light shirt fits ok- i like the tight nit material and the look - ty very much-

I have owned safari type jackets for over 50 years . Made in USA of Foreign sourced . The cut of this jacket is too long,mostly below the pockets . It should be billed as a safari style trench coat .C. MC

Classic bush jacket. Fits well. Nice effort to make buttons look metallic, but I'll be changing those out for real metal buttons later.

One can buy similar products on Amazon for less than 1/2 the price.

What does one get for the increase cost?
1. A heavy weight all cotton twill fabric.
2. A slightly roomer fit.
3. A longer jacket.
4. Metal looking buttons including ones for the top front pockets.
5. Overall, perhaps a better quality of sewing (although I am no expert to judge).
