The cloth is thin

I wore this to a cocktail dress Christmas Party because I had just had shoulder surgery and couldn't wear a jacket. It was perfectly serviceable, and got a lot of compliments, but I would have liked a heavier weight of cloth.

Awesome - Great - even for 4xl!!! Better than the price charged!

I was worried that this was not going to fit - "after all one size fits all" rarely does fit the large ones - I am 4 xlt and it was GREAT!!!

I am a monk and priest and I needed something that I cold wear in chilly and wet over my habit - It is so Good I am going to get the Tweed one for colder wear...

So Good - and the cost cannot be beaten - and I am no AI - Facebook Five Loaves Food Pantry

Very Nice Cape

Decided to go to an "early Halloween" party in steampunk drag and needed a proper cape to set off he stuff I had.

I paid for expediated delivery and had the item the very next day, and very nice it is too. Not too heavy and still quite warm.

I am 5' 8", 255 lbs with a 20" neck.

The cape fitted well but the neck was tight when not wearing a collared shirt. I thought I might wear it open anyway, but wanted it not to slip off my shoulders, so I made a cape fastener by sewing two 22 mm buttons back-to-back with a small gap between them, and hot gluing decorative cogs to one button.

By slipping this contraption into the open buttonhole opposite the top button and linking it to the cape's top button with a chain loop the cape was held securely, open slightly to display my ascot, with no danger of falling from my shoulders.

Based on this purchase I will be using Historical Emporium for future costuming needs with no reservations.

Big Cape

This cape is quite large and would be very helpful if one needed to smuggle a small animal or some type of pilfered artifact on and off of a train.

For a variety of outerwear

Bought the black cotton Inverness Cape this time, along with the black cotton Callahan Frock Coat and the black wool Coburn Great Coat I had purchased previously. The Callahan Sack Coat will be purchased before long. Still too warm to wear. I really like these styles.

A great value with quality materials and workmanship

I'm an Actor needed in a dark, dreary, outdoor cemetery scene of ages ago, and this caped cloak enhances the look perfectly.

Wow! Impressive!

I'm impressed! Much better made than I expected. This will work well with my collection of hats; pirate, detective, western, the shadow, etc. As far as the fit goes, it's just rite for my 6' 3" - 211lb frame.

Lightweight and Functional

This was perfect for my dad. He did get it waterproofed for those Rainy New Orleans days! The length and weight are perfect!

Big and Comfortable

It is a bit concerning to buy clothing that only has one size, but I am happy with the Inverness Cape I bought. It is a large and encompassing coat and depending on how much you wear beneath even the cotton version gets warm. I am 5'10" and 170 lbs and west the cape over a suit jacket and it work well. The wool version might be more rugged for ongoing wear, but as a costume the cotton one is fine.

Beautiful ... but ENORMOUS!

This thing is GIGANTIC! 5 Stars for quality--really well-made--but would best fit 6'3 & 215lbs (tee-hee).
Seriously, this cape is comparable to a Mens 3X--maybe larger.
A great piece for hard-to-fit Tall & Hefty actors who want quality outer-wear.
I will pass this along to another Victorian cosplayer--it's too nice to return.
Historical Emporium: Please make this selection in a more realistic option (Men's Large, perhaps?).
I would gladly purchase it again if it were available in a smaller size.

More than happy!

I honestly did not know what to expect as far as quality and I have to say I was very impressed. The cape is beautifully made. It is not some cheap reproduction but a well put together, stunning piece of clothing. It’s one size fits all is a little big on me. I’m 5’ 11” at 185 lbs and the shoulders are a little large, but I can certainly live with that. I would recommend Historical Emporium to anyone looking for quality period clothing.

Real clothe, not a costume

Was perfect for acting Jack The Ripper last Halloween, it's twice the price of a cheap costume but 10 times better quality, even more!

The black Inverness Cape

The cape looks good, all seems to be in order with it, how it is made, the buttons, etc. The black satin lining is nice.

A quality costume

Got this for a Halloween costume. Also for my stage theater. This was a very good value decently well made with good pockets. Wore it in NYC Halloween 2021 and it was comfortable and warm enough but not suitable for really cold weather. Glad I bought it and will have many future uses.

Excellent cape at an excellent price. And there is very little sticking on the black cotton. So glad this cape became available again.

Shadows of the Night. . .

For many years I have wanted this very coat and at long last, I have one now, and it is absolutely wonderful! It is the perfect fall coat, light enough to wear on its own or, should the weather turn a bit chilly, with a light jacket underneath and you are set to go. I was not sure if I'd like the sleeveless design but I absolutely love this coat. I will be purchasing the full sleeve, 100% wool version soon for when the snow starts.

This is not a coat for everyone due to its style and cut and it raises eyebrows whenever I wear it but I am glad I did.
