Weddington Blouse - Blue Leaf

This is my 2nd blouse, because my last one was "bloodstained" from last character I played and they used something that permanently stained. Now I'm saving the 1st one in case I need to be injured again. Very versatile for many characters, well made!

The Cheyenne Genealogical and Historical Society presents a cemetery walk each year where a guide interviews characters dressed in historical costumes portraying famous and not so famous people buried in the cemetery. This year I was a greeter. I felt right at home in my Classical Frontier costume.

I bought it just to wear for every day use it is very pretty.

Some women friends and I are attending a Victorian Holiday Tea in December and we're all trying to dress in period costume. This blouse (and accompanying skirt) is just perfect. When I tried it on, my husband said "Wow! Now I want to go to the Tea too."
I can use this outfit two or three times a year.

Trip on the Titanic

I needed a Victorian era blouse for an event -- A Dickens of a Christmas. This one was perfect. I wore it with a brooch on a wide burgundy ribbon at the neck. I usually take a medium but got a large after seeing a few reviews. It's a bit loose but allowed me to wear a long sleeve tee underneath for warmth. Even though I have a full length hooded cape, I just used a large pashmina shawl and didn't need a coat. I like that it's extra long and straight, so it didn't bunch up under a full taffeta skirt and petticoat. The sleeves and cuffs are beautiful and the cuffs don't bunch or wrinkle. I'm so glad I found your website and that you ship so quickly.

It is a beautiful and well made blouse, however, the size 2X fit perfectly in the bust, but the neck and sleeves were WAY too big/long. So, I ordered an XL. It fit better in the arms and neck, but not at all in the bust. I returned the XL and will need to have alternations made for the 2XL. For now I've pinned the sleeves rather than move the buttons, and took two "tucks" in the neck.
Delivery on both orders was excellent, and the return process very easy to follow.

I love this blouse, fabric is beautiful and fits really well, true to size.

The quality of this blouse is very good. It's a true cream/ivory. The bust size was accurate. I will add that the wrist size is enormous and most will have to take it in on that larger size. A minor bit of sewing skill required to simply move the buttons to size no problem. I do recommend this blouse for reenactments, cosplay, EGL, and if you want to feel fancy!

I love the clothing you can purchase from the Historical Emporium..definitely aligns with historical periods... is good quality and well made. What I have found is when ordering, you need to probably purchase the next size up. I ordered the Weddington Blouse in a large because of my bust size; however, when I received it, it was too tight across the chest so I returned it and ordered an extra large. The extra large fits in the shoulders and chest, but the arm length is too long as is the length of the shirt--I could almost wear it as a night shirt. I love the design and quality of it, so I'm taking it to a seamstress to get it altered to fit my 5'1" frame. The added cost to have it altered plus the price of the shirt makes it a little pricey. I only wish they would carry petite sizes to fit those of us who are petite, then perhaps I wouldn't have the same problem the next time I order. Highly recommend the company if you are seeking historical types of clothing.

This was highly sufficient, and honestly worth it for the time that I would have taken to create a similar (probably less detailed) garment. Quite good for the price. I'm excited to wear it.

Bought this well made blouse as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter but unfortunately she did not like when she tried it so will be returning it. Made she shoulders look very wide.

the weddington is very nice blouse and very pretty with the ruffle. it looks really good on and is very flattering. i had to order the next size bigger because for me it seemed to be running a bit small. this may not be a problem for other buyers and could just be the way that it fit on me.

Scratchy shoulders

I got this for my fiancé civil war impression and it turned out great.

It's a beautiful blouse, and perfect for my job as a Victorian-costumed Christmas caroler. My only problem is that despite my weight being stable over the years, and my measurements actually getting smaller by an inch or two, I now take a size 3X. I started off with the Darlington blouse as an XL, then went to 2X so that I could wear long underwear under the shirt for outdoor caroling gigs. So I ordered a 2X in the Weddington, and it was too small. If it shrunk at all, it would not have fit, let alone over a high-tech warming layer. So I ordered the 3X, and it just fits with the extra layer after the first washing, though the sleeves are a bit too long. I don't know if it's the style of the blouse or if the company's sizes have shrunk. But I guess I'd better pay more attention to losing weight if I hope to keep buying from Historical Emporium!

First blouse I had to send back because the size was not according to your chart. The second one did fit. The product was well made, however, the stitching used, especially in the shoulders was very itchy. I did wear it for an event last night and got a lot of compliments on the entire outfit.

I was extremely pleased with this blouse. I got tons of compliments on my costume. I ordered a Large based on my bust measurements - probably could have gotten the Medium, but the fit was good nonetheless.

The blouse itself is quite nice and fits well. The shoulder seams, however, are horrible. The material to make it stiff, buckram or something, pokes right into my shoulders. It's like pins sticking into your skin. I had to sew some seam binding on it to be able to wear it.

Needed a more formal blouse to go with a fancy Wash Day bustle skirt I sewed. This fit the bill perfectly. Well made, but fits quite snug in the bust while having almost hilariously long sleeves. Luckily a wash shrunk the cotton enough so that I did not need to alter the sleeves to make wearing feasible. Shoulder area fits per size. Next time I will order up a size. Lace is very pretty, love the ribbon detail on the sleeves, I got lots of compliments and your blouse ended up on the front page of the local paper!
